Subject: Open Port 4282, 4283, 4284 & 4285

Hi Plusnet i am hoping you are able to advise:

I am trying to open ports: 4282, 4283, 4284 & 4285 on my router, however when i go to do this the port is already in use by an Unknown application or game already listed on your router, please see screenshot attached.

I have go to: Home > Advanced > Firewall Port Forwarding > Manage Games and applciations > Add new game or application, i then list the ports (as per screenshot)

However, when i go back to: Home > Advanced > Firewall Port Forwarding > Manage Games and applciations
& attempt to add this newely created "game or application" it stated that the port is already in use.

--

I therefore believe i need a complete list of all of your "Games and Applicatoins" so i can trick your router into forwarding the correct port to the intended device.

Unfortunalty being an end user, i do not have the permission to remove your pre-defined rules and your support team are not able to edit them either.

HI @anz181 welcome to the forum.

You did not say which Hub you're using but the it looks a Hub One.

I've been able to create the port forward rule with no issues

Suggest resetting the Hub One back to factory settings and trying again, make sure you have a note of your username and password before you start.

Dan.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply,

Yes i have the Hub One.It was reset on Tuesday by the BT engineer Plusnet booked out (they came to test the line as i am 1% above the minimum guaranteed speed)

Perfect, the second part of my query is when you add the rule to be active, it accepts, but the port isnt actually open, i test using: https://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php

@anz181

With port forwarding the device where the rule is pointing the application must be running as it the device which is accepting the connection is not the Hub One it just forwards the connection to the device. (hope that makes sense?)

There are currently issues with the Plus Net firewall found in the members centre, what is the current setting?

Dan

Hi Dan,

All sorted,

The device has been running the entire time, yes that makes perfect sense i just wasnt able to get the router to add it.

Now i can, i dont know whats changed in the last 4 hours, i havent restarted but my router now accepts the command

If that was you - thank you for doing this!!
