Setting up the router risks DLM banding, What are my time windows to try and avoid this?
The way I look at what you're doing, is that upsetting DLM might be unavoidable - but not the end of the world.
You'll be disconnecting the old router, removing the landline phone from the Master socket, removing any inline DSL filters or possibly replacing the filtered faceplate with an unfiltered socket, disconnecting any phone extension wiring in the house, optimising your DSL wiring from master socket to router, fitting the new router, factory reset your new router, had a fiddle with the settings, upgraded to latest AVM firmware, tried different modem parameters, ensured QoS is enabled, configured your VoIP, etc.
Once you have come to the end of 'tweaking', everything is working, and you're not going to touch it again, it is not a bad idea to request a DLM reset regardless of whether the line is banded or not, so that Openreach DLM can do a ten day 'retrain' with the changed DSL chipset and upgraded line conditions - to give you optimum line performance going forwards.
