I have been ferreting around at work through the old IT equipment and we have some of these routers. the company used Oncecom as their telephony provider. Trying to log in to the admin and it seems that maybe One have added their own firmware as none of the default passwords work, or the suggestion printed on the back of the router.
Never had to flash firmware before. I have found a page on Kitz with some info, but it still seems you need the admin password to install it 😡. I've had routers before that are locked down, but never one where resetting the router to default doesn't reset that password. I don't suppose any techies out there have a suggestion please?

Does it have a tftp recovery mode ?

Never heard of it, so will do some Googling. A brief search shows I need to have some firmware to start the process along with the TFTP software. Hopefully it isn't too difficult.

It's a pretty common way of recovering firmware. You setup a simple tftp server on a machine and put the firmware file there. You then boot the router into the recovery mode, it starts a tftp client, connects to the server and downloads the firmware
You usually need the tftp server on a defined static IP and with the firmware in a specific filename

I've had a ferret around, but there appears to be no firmware file for this router. I've also noticed that when plugged into my laptop and entering the router address, putting in password and username give "not connected to the internet" errors.
Of course i'm not connected to the internet, i'm trying to set it up for the internet. It is the same interface as my old router, that didn't require internet. I can't even connect it to the back of one of my routers as it is still in "router" mode.
And I thought this was going to be the easy, cheap option ☹️

I wasn't going to be beaten. I found there is another default password of engineer!! I have now gained access and have changed some stuff, so hopefully once I go live, the settings are right for the router to connect (although not sure PN support IPV6 at the moment?). Fingers crossed!

Plusnet dont support IPV6 so I'd suggest disabling that.
Also the username format is @plusdsl.net not @plusnet.com

I seemed to remember something previously about it not being supported and turned it off last night.
thanks for the reminder about the username, rookie error and one I will correct next time I turn it on 👍

Hey @Marksfish
According to the Technicolor DGA4134-specsheet.pdf your router supports 6in4 IPv6 tunnelling -
Therefore you could sign-up for a FREE Hurricane Electric Tunnelbroker account, to enable IPv6 internet and LAN connectivity on your Plusnet IPv4 only connection.
For the H.E. IPv6 Tunnelbroker to work, you would first need to get Plusnet to assign you a static WAN address (one time £5 charge), and set your router to respond to WAN IPv4 ICMP ECHO_REQUEST (ping requests).
Then follow the simple instructions in this YouTube video - How to configure IPv6 connectivity with Tunnel Broker service , the settings for your router will be similar to the D-Link router described in the video.
I've used the IPv6 Tunnelbroker for over a decade, and can highly recommend it.
I hope that helps 😎

Got to be honest, I don't really understand that. Need to make sure the router works on my line first and that I have changed all the settings that need changing. I have an app for the VOIP, so if I can't get it working via the router, it is no great loos. Voipfone don't seem to think there is a problem though.

@Anunnaki I realise you are trying to help but I think the OP wants to get a basic configuration sorted out first, maybe IPv6 could be looked at in the future but it's not a priority

I had a watch, but I don't think it really applies to me and my needs. I am quite happy with the IPV4 side of things while 6 is still being rolled out. I don't think it will unreasonably affect anything I need to do, but thanks anyway.

So today is the day and unusually the PN router connected at 0730 this morning!! I tried to connect using this router today and it stubbornly refuses. I have since seen on the help files that VLAN should be disabled, so I have. My current username and the password I use to log into "My Account" I believe is the right one. Any suggestions what I may be missing please? FTTP btw.
