Hello. If all goes to plan in the near future I'll be getting FTTP/Full Fibre and for various reasons I need to up my WiFi game. A few of my friends have Ubiquiti kit and seem quite happy, so I thought I may join them.
I've been doing a bit of research and I guess I'll be looking at something like UniFi Express or Cloud Gateway with an AP/switch/etc where needed (as Dream Routers seem to be mythicaly rare). I believe they do PPPoE, but do they connect straight to the Openreach ONT, or would I have to do something involving the PlusNet Hub?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

@shardlojik as along as they can be configured for PPPoE, then connect straight to the ONT

The YouTube channel "CrossTalk Solutions" has a lot of useful videos on Ubiquiti kit,
this video might be a good place to start from - UniFi Basics: Start the Right Way Without Breaking the Bank!

I am looking at doing the same once I have FTTP. It seems that you just need the equipment below (at least this is what I am going to get):
Unifi Cloud Gateway Max
Unifi U7 Pro Access Point
Unfit PoE Injector to power the AP as my switch does not do PoE.

I was doing some research yesterday and I pretty much came up with the same kit list (I may add in a further switch, depends on whwer I can get cabling to go). Nice to know I'm on the right track, thanks!

I am planning on putting 1 ap in one of the indicated locations and am hoping it will cover the whole flat which is 90m2 as the ubiquiti access points say they cover 140m2

I have the Unifi Cloud Gateway Max router that I want to connect straight to the ONT, I have tried configuring it as per PN instructions using PPPoE with Username and Password, VLAN 101 but still 'no internet'. Has anyone managed to get this setup working please? I am at a loss as to what else I can try

VLAN 101
@bugs No, you need VLAN disabled. Any VLAN ID requirement is handled by the ONT.
The settings you need are the ones in the section 'What settings should I use for a fibre router thats connected to a BT Openreach modem?' from here https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/

Have you got the username correct ? it should be <youraccountname>@plusdsl.net and the password is the one used to access the member centre at https://www.plus.net/member-centre/login
I've used my own router for some time now, both on FTTC and currently running Openwrt with FTTP , connected directly to the ONT and it works just fine.

@bugs is this a new FTTP connection ? have you got a Plusnet Hub 2 and does that get a connection ?
You can confirm the correct details yourself by logging in to the member centre via the link I gave above (note you dont need the @plusdsl.net for the member centre )

I have not tried to use my cloud gateway yet as I am still waiting for my fibre to be installed.
@bugs Do you have the cable from the ONT box in the WAN port on the cloud gateway?

Yes, I tried that initially but as I lose internet I am now trying with Hub2 plugged into the ONT and the Lan port1 into the Cloud Gateway WAN so that I still have internet

Ive had the FTTP for a long time and haven't had any problems with the hub2 and I have checked the username and password. It's so frustrating because I configured all my unifi equipment whle still connecting through the hub2 and am really pleased with unifi, Ive got a 16 port switch ( 8 with POE) U6+ access point Cameras and a PVR. All is exceptionally brilliant but as soon I try to put the hub2 into bridge mode or connect directly to the Gateway I get the 'NO INTERNET' message
