Weak security

I get a warning on my Apple PC to say

"WPA is not considered secure.

If this is your Wi-Fi network, configure the router to use WPA2/WPA3 Personal (AES) security type for this network."

Is this something I should be worried about and if so have do I re-configure the router?

Thanks

Nick

Re: Weak security

What router are you using? If it's a Hub One, then it is already likely configured to prefer WPA2 (AES).

I've seen this before on Apple devices and there are plenty of reports of the same elsewhere on this forum and across the Internet. It seems - for reasons known only to Apple, as much of the evidence is inconclusive - that devices sometimes flag this warning even in situations where the router *is* configured how they suggest it needs to be Huh

Re: Weak security

Thanks.

Yes it is HubOne. Even if there was a need, presumably it is not possible to re-configure the settings?

Re: Weak security

@veterinary1234 that's the point really. I'm fairly certain it will already be configured as per guidance. You can validate this by logging into the router at http://192.168.1.254 and navigating to the Wi-Fi Settings pages.

WPA3 isn't supported, but WPA2 (AES) is.
