Wifi degrading?

My Plusnet-supplied TG582n router has been in continuous use for nearly 8 years. Recently I have noticed slow response mostly from tablet and mobile phone devices connected wirelessly, but occasionally on my Ethernet connected laptop. Speed tests show a good connection speed most of the time.

My question is, is it likely that a router of this age will give degraded Wi-Fi signal and/or occasional slow synchronisation?

Re: Wifi degrading?

Thanks for your post @maranello

I'm sorry to see you're having issues with your router.

Potentially, but it'd be hard to say definitively. It looks like we've sent you a Hub One in 2018, have you still got it?

@Gandalf

The Hub One sent in 2018 was returned, it was sent to me to eliminate my TG582n as the cause of issues I was experiencing at the time.

Re: Wifi degrading?

Thanks for getting back to me @maranello

Ah I see. It may be worth calling our Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 and we'll be happy to discuss sending you out a new router if you'd like to replace your old TG582n router.
