plusnet router Hub 1 how to close an open port

Hi all, I'm not very good at techie stuff, so please bear with. My avast antivirus is telling me there is a router port open, It's ID WAN-ACESS. My computer is Windows 11. I have followed instructions to go into Plusnet hub master to log in select settings, advanced settings, Firewall etc. I am unable to work out from that point how you locate and close an open port. FYI, Plusnet has closed the outside port.

I am at my wits end trying to solve this. I have already had five lots of money taken today from this computer, a total of £351,the money used to buy airline flight tickets. Which the bank tells me they buy the tickets and then cancel them. And then request the refund is sent to another bank account.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I need an idiot's guide to doing this. Thanks in advance.

Frank

@frank1847

The Hub firewall is setup to stop unsolicited incoming connections. To bypass this incoming port block you would need to manually setup Port Forwarding rule, sometimes UPnP is used by some apps to open ports, typically these will be gaming apps.

Outgoing connections are not blocked by the Hub Firewall

What port was the message tell you is open?

Have you been speaking to anyone recently you weren't expecting a call from or received an email with a link to click?

Banks do not do this.

I suggest you speak to your bank on an official phone number on the back debit card or phone 159 and ask for your bank

Has anyone asked you to install AnyDesk, Ultraviewer, Teamviewer or any other remote access software?

Also, disconnecting the PC from the router as well.

Unplug the network cable or disable the WiFi on the PC.

Once done, ask someone to look at it for you.

Re: plusnet router Hub 1 how to close an open port

Fix

@frank1847

There was another report of an issue with AVG reporting port 4567 as being open, is the same port being reported to you?

See https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/security-issue-with-Hub-One-Router/td-p/2005492

If it is the same port it can be ignored as port 4567 is used by TR069 which is a hub management system used by plusnet.

Re: plusnet router Hub 1 how to close an open port

Hi Dan

As I stated, I dont have a clue about this stuff, I have no idea what port is open.

I havent been speaking to any unexpected, nor clicked any links.

I phoned Barclays fraud team, and told them airline tickets had been purchased on my bank statement that I knew nothing about. He informed me it's a common thing. They purchase the tickets and then cancel them, requesting a refund to a different account.

No one has asked me to Remote access software.

I have fixed the problem now I returned it to default, it seems to be working and not showing any vulnerabilities.

Thank you for your help.
