Please note the FTTC 80/20 trial has now closed. Customers on one of our 40Mbps FTTC or ADSL products can upgrade to our new Extra Fibre up to 76Mbps product via the Product Change link in the member centre on our website. New customers can signup to the new product via our website. In January we started a trial of 80/20 FTTC (up to 80Mbps down, up to 20Mbps up). Since then we've added around 100 staff and customers to the trial and results so far have been very positive. You can read some of the feedback, questions and comments in our fibre trials forum. We opened the trial up to all residential FTTC customers last month in the forum but still have plenty of spaces open on the trial for more customers to take part if they want to. Like all other DSL technologies 80/20 is a distance dependant technology, but as it's a fibre to the cabinet product it's the distance between property and cabinet that matters rather than property and exchange. The 80/20 trial is open to anyone that currently has FTTC and is on Value Fibre or Extra Fibre and the trial will be free of charge until we launch an 80/20 product (you'd just pay your normal subscription fee and any usage/other charges). At the end of the trial people on the trial will be able to move to whatever 80/20 product we launch and pay whatever the fee is for that product or switch back to the up to 40Mbps product for free and continue to pay the same as today. We have a limited number of routers available for testing, these are free and yours to keep regardless of whether you stay on 80/20 or not at the end of the trial. All you need to do take part in the trial is go to our trials site, have a read through and state you accept the terms and conditions and let us know if you want to try a new router. If you have any questions then the best place to ask is in trial forum. We should stress that this is a trial and things can go wrong and may take longer than normal to fix.
