Yesterday BT announced that access to its fibre broadband network is now available to more than 15 million premises, meaning more than half of UK homes and businesses can now access much faster speeds. This delivery is approximately eighteen months ahead of schedule, with Openreach engineers enabling between 100,000 and 200,000 additional premises every week. That’s great news for our customers because it means even more of you can benefit from Plusnet’s superfast fibre-optic broadband. Openreach chief executive Liv Garfield said: “Fibre broadband is at the heart of our business and so it is great that we have now passed more than fifty per cent of UK premises. This is a significant milestone and one that our engineers can be proud of. They have worked through many months of appalling weather to bring the benefits of fibre to cities, towns and villages and this is making a genuine difference to how people live their lives."
