Who’s happy with the fact that the sun has finally come out then? It’s time to get out the barbeques, break out the lawn mower, and lace up the walking boots for a bit of geocaching. For those who haven’t already heard of geocaching, it’s a treasure hunting game played by people with GPS devices. The idea is to locate containers hidden outdoors (called geocaches) and then share your experiences online. It’s all really quite lovely. I know it’s not exactly the word on everyone’s lips, but it is actually good fun and if you haven’t tried it already, give it a go tomorrow. Apart from the fact that it’s a good way to motivate yourself to get out and about for a nice walk, the iPhone app has been nominated for a 2010 Webby Award. If you’re into your geekery, the built in GPS finds all the caches near you and helps you find them (we found several near us). Let us know if you find any this weekend – we’d love to hear about it!
