Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

@dwp Sorry, I didn't read your message properly. If you could tell me how you get in touch with the BT adviser then I'll go down that route as well. Many thanks.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

@vincal88 I contacted them via email to shop@bt.com.  I pasted in a bit of the Plusnet email showing the offer price and.quoted the Campaign code from near the end of the email (G128EM).

In the order acknowledgement email I received it says "BT Emp/Stu Exclusive", which I assume means the order was raised by a BT employee.

A minute ago the stock level was showing as 37, so they can't tell you they've all gone.

Good luck.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

I, too, had an email offering this Nest Hub at a reduced price, but when I clicked the link it was there at £79. I kept trying but no deal!

I have since tweeted my concerns at this con, & spent nearly an hour altogether on the phone this morning being passed to different departments who couldn’t help, then on hold for 25 minutes, by which time I gave up.

Have always been happy with Plusnet customer service, but this issue is appalling. One guy I spoke to asked me if I had seen the offer on a website! So they don’t know that they’ve sent out emails to their customers advertising this so-called ‘deal’?

What a farce 😡

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

@Jan48 If the time you spent on the phone was with Plusnet I'm not surprised you got nowhere - as the old saying goes, their left hand doesn't seem to know what their right hand is doing.

Might be worth emailing shop@bt.com and see if their customer service will still honour the offer.  After all, BT took over Plusnet in 2007 so they should share some responsibility for their promotions.  It's been four days since the original email but it said the offer was supposed to last until Dec 6th.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

The parcel just arrived - the box says Google Home Hub but there's a sticker on the outer film around the box that says "Google Home Hub is now Google Nest Hub" -- maybe they were trying to shift old stock.  And my credit card was debited with £39.

Best of luck to anyone trying to get them to honour the Plusnet offer before Dec 6th - there are currently more than 50 in stock, at £79 of course.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

Another email from Plusnet today re the Nest hub! £39 instead of £79.... so I clicked the link, surprise surprise it wasn’t £39 in the BT shop but £79.

So I’ve emailed BT & will see what they say. If Plusnet keeps sending out these offers they should make sure they are honoured. So annoying! And I was a happy customer 🙈

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

@Jan48 I got an email too, it included a voucher code to use on the BT site, to bring the price down from £79 to £39. Try that if you got one too.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

Found the voucher, registered with BT, ordered, paid, now I have a message saying they don’t have any left.

Aggggghhhhhh!
I just hope they haven’t taken payment from my credit card. It’s just ridiculous!

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

@dwp Many thanks for your sound advice. I contacted the BT shop, as you suggested, and they were very helpful and prompt with their replies. All I had to to do was register with them and save my debit card and let them know the last 4 digits and they would place my order at the discounted price of £39. I have got my confirmation email today. In the interim, I too got a further PlusNet email with the helpful and cheery "reassurance" of "Miss out on your half-price nests? That'll never do.". This email came with a discount code (which they should really have given with the original offer email), but, like others here, as soon as I tried that method, all stock was used up and the transaction cancelled.

I have to say that PlusNet are worse than useless in their coordination of this and should really take a look at their procedures as it's just winding their own customers up. If they spent more time and effort in actually following through their promises of "great" customer services, instead of employing a middle of the road comedian to promote them as such, then their customers would have more faith in them. It is quite frankly shambolic. I did relay this to one of the BT Shop advisers, who said they would pass it on to their product manager to get it looked into.

So, as @dwp suggested, please go through the BT shop and they will gladly be able to assist.

Re: A virtual VIP Deal ?

Sorry @Jan48 , it looks like you're too late -- the link to the BT Shop now says "Sorry but this product has been discontinued".

The second Plunet email did say (just before the line with the voucher code) "They’re back in stock now, but at just £39, they won’t hang around".  After I got this email I tested it by going to the BT Shop and putting the voucher code in, and it did work, quoting £39 instead of £79, but I don't know how long it was before stock ran out again.

If you really want one there's probably no need to spend £79, lots of places have been offering them for £59 during the past week. Of course they could all be out of stock now !
