Tiscali UK is now owned by Carphone Warehouse (who own TalkTalk). Both business trade under the TalkTalk brand in the ADSL/Home Phone market.

Quote from: magnetism2772 hi John
So we all think
but then you have never heard of their company
talktalk/tiscali
My knowledge of PIPEX history is based on a lot of personal contact ( stop laughing, James) and it's only about 3 weeks ago that I had lunch with a chap who was network director of PIPEX when it was a good company. I was a founder of pipexsupport.com and used to meet with their MD when GX owned them - I even got a phone call from their business director less than 20 mins after requesting my mac code so I could migrate to Plusnet - I obviously had a tagged account.
@Mand - CPW seem to have ceased using Tiscali name ( wonder why ::)) and PIPEX business has become Opal from 1st June. My above mentioned friend still has the very first PIPEX dial account email addy which he uses to this day.
Overall it isn't surprising that people got confused about who owned what within that set-up.

hi mand - constantly been told everything has been cancelled / then is being cancelled
to me talktalk ops are like this
imagine orders on top of a conveyor belt
or a computer memory stack FIFO or potatoes
at the side and along the conveyor are lights that record progress on each order
as they pass each of the lights
peoples orders are placed(queued first)
cancellations are placed 2nd(follow behind)
with this system you cant cancel an order
the last conveyor light checks your up and running
to find the lot has been or should of been cancelled
