Hi James, no it was nowhere near those speeds, probably around 150k when I did an evening download last week. I have been peaking at 6meg at times with other protocols, and my modem reports 7424 Kbps / 416 Kbps from a possible Attainable Line Rate of 7968 Kbps / 576 Kbps. It sustained the low speed even after midnight.
I just bought an album to test now (10:50am), and it's downloading at 1.8Mbps.
Cheers.

Hi Andy,
When last week was this? We did some pipe balancing on Thursday which should have improved performance a bit.
If you could try doing an iTunes download later on during peak time and let me know what sort of speed you get, I'd be interested to hear. If it's slow, try rebooting and trying again.

Hi James,
That could have been it I think, it was much earlier in the week I did the downloads. I had seen the service report regarding iTunes downloads (amongst others), and hadn't seen anything to say it was fixed, that was all.
I'll try a download later on and report back anyway.
Cheers.

Hi James,
Just doing a download now (about 8:30pm) and it's pretty steady at around 500Kbps. Not as bad, but I do perhaps feel that something like iTunes purchasing should be a bit better, even at peak times, it's not like I'm illegally sharing music, or downloading tons of illegal software. After all, my amount of downloading is restricted in the package I have chosen. And yes, I do realise it is in the T&Cs, but I hadn't thought it would have affected normal legal music purchasing quite so much.
My modem is still looking pretty steady (I have been rebooting it every day at the moment anyway), and is showing a connection around 7400Kbps, and only 4 errors in 468000 packets.
Anyway, just my thoughts, I'm still overall pretty happy with the service.
Cheers.
