I am not a technical expert and the terminology is very confusing !! Last Friday i noticed my download speed had slowed considerably. I have been with PlusNet for about 3 years with no problems (download speeds of about 2Mb,good enough for my needs) --- until now. The help centre just tries to put the blame on BT for adjusting the line speed but i have my doubts. I have now done all the tests asked for and present the results below. Can anyone diagnose the fault from them ????
BT Availability Checker - ADSL fixed line speed 2MB, ADSL max 6.5 - 8MB, ADSL2+ 10 - 19.5MB
My PlusNet product - upto 8MB
BT Speed Checker - Configured download speed 8031K, configured upload speed 443K
Test Results - Download Speed 219K, DSL Connection Rate 9104K down, 443K up, IP Profile 8031K, upload speed 352K, upstream proflie 443K
Router Stats (from Kitz) for a BT Voyager 2091
Line rate 9104K down 443K up
Noise Margin 11.6dB down 31.6dB up
Line attenuation 12.5dB down 3.7dB up
output power 0.0dBm down 12.1 dBm up
BER test 20 sec test Error bits 0 Error ratio 0
Norton 360 detects no viruses and changing an ethernet cable for my wireless link made no difference. Any help gratefully received !!

Hi randmathome,
I've just been checking and it seems that a low sync event caused the profile to drop. I've changed this to 8000 on our system now to match your new sync rate. You should the increase in the next 15 minutes.
