Re: Customer service please

i think I may have 2 separate issues here.
just done a speed test and up to 1638 now. But tried to download a pdf file of 3.5MB and its taken over 10mins. I think this must be something to do with plusnets awful download throttling.

Re: Customer service please

some download servers are throttled but not all, where were you trying to download from? and at what time?

Re: Customer service please

just now @ 8pm. it was a product manual from www.maplin.co.uk. this is a retailer not a download site.

Re: Customer service please

It depends where the content is served from, can't find a product with  a manual to test...

Re: Customer service please

That came down at 300k+ for me so it isn't been throttled.

this is the full contents of the log. you will have to ignore the dates as it resets to 2000 when reset. Usually gets updated by ntp i think?. its a powerline router from maplin.
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221008
I have not managed to find any firmware updates for it.

That shows three losses of sync over the 24 hours
I assume that is elapsed time from last switch on
One thing you could try is setting the idle timeout to zero
Without an actual date stamp the only way to correlate the times is if you remembered when you switched it on.

Re: Customer service please

I think the router is set to always on, so the idle time option out is greyed out.
Ive set the time to the pc. here is the log for last night.

The sync speed is now slightly lower at 2336.
I did find an artical on models of billion routers that appear to use the same firmware as my router, where XP SP3 sends out DHCP requests that cause the router to reboot. But this connection loss at 5am there were no pcs on so probably not relevant.
