All starting to come back this end  Smiley

Yep...same here....have tried 10 different sites that were inaccessible 10 minutes ago and they all load fine and quickly

Same here. www.gov.uk and uk.yahoo.com have become available.
Seems like things are a little fluid...

Re: DNS servers failing

Plusnet support
Can I urge you (as I often do when you have server problems like the one you have at the moment) to list the fault on the Service Status page as soon as you become aware of it, *even before you've investigated and identified the cause*.
This would save a lot of support calls. Service status was the first thing I checked when I discovered the problem at 08:15 this morning, and when I saw that there were no known problems, started to investigate whether it was a problem at my end (eg reboot router, try a spare router, try pinging by IP address as opposed to by URL).
That was when portal.plus.net was still working fine - I realise that you've now lost the whole of portal.plus.net including the service status page.
Good luck in getting everything back!

I've just posted in the announcements thread. I've given it a title a little more understandable for anyone visiting this forum for the first time for the purpose of the outage. I'll provide updates ASAP.
Matty

That would be good if the status page was available! The Portal seems to be completely dead!
EDIT: As you were. Misread "announcements"!

Just got a service status up. The issues were impacting our ability to get the status up.

Re: DNS servers failing

First the support site down for over a week recently, and now this MAJOR outage.
Question: Have you had an expensive new senior support manager/consultant in lately? Perhaps using phrases like "customer satisfaction metrics going forward"?
Just guessing...

The issues are impacting our ability to read service status messages as the main site is not loading

Re: DNS servers failing

YES !!
The server at portal.plus.net is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
