Re: Extremely poor service - Ordered on 24th August - No Fibre and No Support

I don't understand what Adam was saying there either... perhaps he's been at the Xmas booze already 😕
I've just had a dig into the ordering system and the order has cancelled with an error of "No DSLAM Ports Available".  I suspect that an engineer might have turned up, gone to the cab and then left after realising there wasn't any ports left Sad
We'll need to reorder your fibre install unfortunately.  I'm going to talk to our prov team about sorting that.

Ok, basically BT are struggling with port capacity.  The availability has moved again to the 8th of January.  Sad
Chris Purvey has a personal ticket raised in your account so can keep his eye on it and get an order placed for you as son as we can.
Sorry about the delay Sad

Re: Extremely poor service - Ordered on 24th August - No Fibre and No Support

Hi Chris - It's now showing as available again!
Would it be possible to get this ordered today for an installation date before Christmas? I was promised an expedited install some time ago and it would be great to get this finally done before Christmas - Thanks

I just noticed that myself too, I'll book this in now and let you know what dates are available.

Connected at last - Thanks for the expedited install Chris Smiley
I am still getting only 4048 kbps (506kB/s) download speed but I suppose something needs to be configured at the Plusnet end - Is that correct?

I've just updated the speed profile for you. If you could log into your router and disconnect and connect again, that should so the trick for you.

I tried logging out and in again and also restarted the router and its still only 4911 kbps  down.
It is however 17265 kbps upload speed

That's strange. The speed profiles are all correct and your sync speeds are fine too.
It might be worth restarting your router and Openreach Modem, if you could?

Re: Extremely poor service - Ordered on 24th August - No Fibre and No Support

I checked on some other speed tester websites and my connection speed is very good indeed - very happy to finally get this thing resolved.
It seems that for some reason that the PlusNet speed tester only shows between 3000 and 5000 kbps on download (same as my old  DSL2 speeds) My uploads show correctly at 17740 kbps - strange, but certainly not a problem.
