First 20GB of Bandwidth per month - at Line Speed? is it still on Extra?

Hi All,
Would this - could this - be true?,
it would make a whole lot of sense to me,
 might stay on +net -
if
this turns out to be the case

this policy would create many satisfied customers
, where some currently find Traffic management unacceptable,
when they discover what it is.

As far as I'm aware, there haven't been any new policies put in place over the Christmas / New Year period.

<panto>Oh yes there have!</panto>
The updated Vision for 2006 was released in early December.
Since then, the additional management as outlined in the above document has been further refined - details here
Working separately from SUP (which counts all traffic, regardless of protocol), the additional management works as follows (assuming you're on £21.99 Premier)
Between the extended hours of 8am and midnight, the amount of P2P, Usenet and FTP traffic (collectively we'll call it "PUF" for ease  ) will be counted. You are given a "clean" allowance of 20GB, which means if you keep below 20GB of PUF traffic in peak hours you should not see any slowdowns.
However, if you exceed 20GB, it will be managed during peak hours as follows:
The next 5GB will run at up to 512k
The next 5GB will run at up to 256k
The next 5GB will run at up to 128k
Any beyond that will run at up to 64k
Downloading PUF traffic outside of these extended peak hours does not count towards this additional management.
Of course, the usual SUP limits (30GB between 4pm and midnight, 100GB total) still apply.

Toby, you seem to be quoting from a post that was made some time ago. The traffic management policies you refer to are almost five years old and have long been retired!

The current Traffic Prioritisation guide, which applies for all products, is described here.
The post the OP referred to is almost 5 years old.

Cheers spraxyt,
FYI Tim we don't do PUF or SUP any more as we favour traffic management now.

I'd guess that PUF is actually FUP is Fair Usage Policy.
I'm going to hazard a guess that SUP is Staff Usage Policy, and was included for completeness.

In case anyone is confused by those expansions PUF meant P2P, Usenet and FTP, and SUP meant Sustainable Use Policy.
