Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

I echo what 4C has said - the few problems I have in in the last 4.5 years have been sorted and I've been kept up to date on progress. Thanks PN.

Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

A mere novice amongst you lot! But I have not had any problem that has not been sorted. Most of them seem to be within BT's various mainfestations. Thanks lads (& Lassies!) 07/03/2008 vintage.

Wasn't there a blog post about the Plusnet history a while back?

The earliest I found was Aug 29th 2000. It included the image attached. Some things never change!

I have had a few issues, mainly in the initial setup and slow dial up service that was available 6 years ago, but since being on broadband, I have not had any problems that have warranted "bad feedback"... the line has been stable, due to reading and utilizing the expert help that is available on the forum

There you go then, that is why you are such a happy customer.  You haven't had any real problems with your service, so you have had no experience at the "quality" way Plusnet handle issues when you do have a problem.  Come back with your praise after you have had Plusnet twirling their thumbs for 14 months and not keeping you informed of anything that they are doing.
It is easy to be satisfied when everything is working well... it is how the ISP resolves the problems that show the true side of their customer service.

Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

Point noted.... BUT... I have had a couple of problems,... and as other satsified posters have said... been satisfied with the way the PN staff have handled them.. I also had a campaign running for a few months on this very board, regarding "Employ more staff to answer the phones"... which was a gripe of mine, having to wait for such a long time.  However, since then, it seems to have improved somewhat, however, there are still busy periods when a wait is inevitable, like with most big operations.
Sorry if you have not had a good experience, I really am,... but on a forum such as this, it seems that it is only "bad news" that gets the attention... and the vast majority of people with "good news/experiences" seldom seem to post in the feedback... My post is trying to add a bit of balance to the Feedback Forum.

Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

I started with Free-online in 1998, then PN bought out Free-online so I haven't changed providers for 15 years. Dial up wasn't a problem, ADSL wasn't a problem, but I have had loads of problems with ADSL2, it has cost me a small fortune too with PN not being able to rectify, and making some of the problems worse.
I am stagnant at the moment as I have basically stopped playing online games because of the lagg and micro stutter, so all I can really complain about is the web pages not loading, or taking an age to load, and 7 times out of 10, I type a post, hit post and I get a screen telling me PN are not responding or web page doesn't exist (or words to that effect). I am not quick to blame PN for the webpages though, as I am leaning towards IE 10 being the problem.

Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

I'd love to see a complete and detailed history of Plusnet to date including all the various guises and realms etc.
There are various 'About Us' links about which I expected to take me to something like I mentioned above but they don't.

Re: Happy Customer after 6 years

Ive been a customer of Plusnet for 5 years now (the clue is in the user name! )and I have always been very happy with the product and service I get.
There have been minor issues, but when I have phoned the Sheffield customer service I have always had very good courteous service - far better than many other suppliers = and often I have had a discount on the full price when a product has changed.
Clearly some people have problems but its how they are delat with that matters, and customer service agents are only human.
Many thanks to all the Plusnet staff that have assisted me and the backroom staff who keep everything ticking over - ADSL is not a perfect technology.
