However, if you PM me a suitable email address I'll send you the version I've managed to get hold of (approx 8.6 MB zipped).

Could I please have a copy of the FON app too?

For 30 GBP you can get a Fonera which then you can use BT Fon spots for free.

So..... how do you get one shipped to a UK address with all the restrictions on the web-site (eg "locked" country for shipping and "currently not available" in UK pages)?

Re: Have PlusNet considered teaming up with Fon like BT do

Well I just placed an order via the fon website. It arrived from Madrid via UPS within 2-3 days.
This may help https://shop.fon.com/en/geolocalization
Then enter United Kingdom, prices are displayed in euros €
NE
Edit- I just realised that they are out of stock. It might be that you can place and order in the new year.

Re: Have PlusNet considered teaming up with Fon like BT do

I e-mailed FON support (regarding "restrictive practices" Shocked ) and got a quick(ish) response:

There's no restriction but the website temporarily didn't show stock.
It's back now, so you should be able to order one without issues.

Interesting that it was only UK that was reporting out of stock (for a few months) and US, France etc all were fine Roll_eyes
The only thing against it is that it becomes a "pay" service if/when your internet fails and your fonera goes offline (if I read the Ts&Cs correctly  Cry

Re: Have PlusNet considered teaming up with Fon like BT do

Old topic revived, but for those with a fonera scuh as the fon simpl - BT have ended their relationship with Fon, this means that you can no longer log ito BT wifi hotspots, or BT wifi With Fon

You can see coverage via the fon site and the maps function, it looks like the UK has some coverage, but once zoomed in it becomes apparent how few fon spots are available in the UK.

Fons social media sites have also been inactive for aboout a year as well

still of some use in Europe, and the channel isalnds (Jersey)

BT WiFi Hotspots are still avaiable for BT Mobile customers though. Through the "BT WiFi" app..
