Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

There is obviously a major problem with your connection which I assume the faults team are dealing with via your ticket. Have you had an update on that which requires a response from you?

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

Hi roost78,
The fault is now reported as an intermittent connection issue however the next step will be another engineer visit I'm afraid. I realise more than one engineer has been out already but unfortunately there's nothing else we can do to progress the fault - if you could advise of available time slots I'll get this booked for you as soon as possible.

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

A 4th BT engineer visit is not an option for me. I do not get paid if I take a day off. Can an engineer be booked for the weekend?

Right, as per phone call the engineer will be attending tomorrow morning but I've asked that he doesn't try and visit the premises - I'll update you when the notes are available.

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

I've had a look at the notes - it looks like the engineer was pretty thorough. The line has been recrimped at the cabinet and tested with a speed of around 1.6 - 1.7Mb, and it appears a recalculation of the SNR rates has also been initiated.
Has there been any improvement to the service? It doesn't seem to be dropping as much as it was as far as the connection logs show.

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

Hi Matt,
Download speedachieved during the test was - 200 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :864 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 350 Kbps
Do you require any further info?

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

Well, it looks like the connection has been stable at that speed for nearly 24 hours and provided it stays there you should get a 500k profile within the next couple of days. I'd say it would be worth leaving it for the moment to see if it does remain stable (and if the profile does uplift), if it drops again we can pass the fault back for more investigation.
It'll probably be worth going for an SNR reset if it does remain stable and you do get a higher profile as well, because at present the fault threshold rate on your line is set to 288kb/s.

Re: .. I have not had a proper working service since I joined

Hi Matt,
I will leave it in your hands. Would it be an idea to set it higher and see if it goes down? I have had a download speed of 1.5Mb for a year so the line should handle it and stay around that.
