Quote from: Bob Struggling with this one. I've just signed up for a new Paddy Power account from an IP in the same subnet, deposited money into the account and placed a bet without any errors whatsoever
I won the bet
Quote from: thedyes0 Weird... it definitely says it to me, I'll get my friend to re-use his account and see if it's fixed (he did email them telling them it was a British ip)
Whilst checking my account for the outcome of the wager I was encountered with the attached, so you definitely weren't seeing things! I'll get in touch with Paddy Power and see what they have to say.

Well at least that saves you having to try and submit an expenses claim for gambling!

Quote from: g1000 My IP is 146.199.x.x
When I go to johnlewis.com it thinks I'm in the USA and asks if I want to deliver there.
Strangely, I've just had exactly the same experience with johnlewis.com.
As this was not the first time a website I visited thought I was in the USA, I knew, fortunately, what the likely reason was. Way back in January I had posted up a baffled query at http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,136212.0.html. Oldjim had redirected me to this thread and explained how to solve the problem (unplug router, wait, get another IP address).
So this time I have simply checked my IP address. It is currently 146.198.93.147. According to the listings on www.iplocation.net, most of the geolocation databases show it as being a UK IP address belonging to Infonet. The database IPligence lists it as "Ipv4 Address Block Not Managed By The Ripe Ncc". But the database of DB-IP still has it listed as being in the US and located at "California El Segundo Infonet Services Corporation".
I pass on this information in case it helps with the ongoing task of correcting and tidying up these databases. Now I'm off to unplug my router.....

Incidentally tonight I am on IP address 146.90.82.87, which is listed as definitely belonging to Plusnet and geolocated in UK!

John Lewis for me last week, ip then was 146.200.130.225, but also Teamviewer that evening.
Vague question, just thowing it out there, trying to connect the dots as Support don't seem to be...
Could the "dodgy" IP range be connected with higher latency and slower speeds?
Currently on 146.199.135.152 connected to pcl-bng04.
Speeds on btw speed test are 37.19 down, 15.31 up and 25ms ping

I like to become Host in MW3, so I can boot cheaters...
Game moves me away from host and picks someone else, with a bad connection, despite my team of 4 or 5 being UK players...
I also pickup a lot of US/Canada and Brazilian players, who just lag...
so yes, it causes an issues...
Playing TitanFall also finds regional players in the US, not Euro
Still on 146.199 now

Quote from: AndyH Plusnet need to clarify whether they are still using the Infonet IP range (146.198.0.0 - 146.198.255.255) because there was another user reporting this the other day http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,126149.msg1140225.html#msg1140225 It was my understanding that they were no longer using this range due to the issues with geolocation.
No, we are not using those ranges. We are however using 146.200.0.0/16 which was formerly assigned to Infonet (I think we also have 146.199.0.0/16 but it's not in use yet).
Quote from: AndyH The issue is that in ARIN's database, the organisation that owns the range is shown as:
Quote Name INFONET Services Corporation
It's a bit of a mish-mash TBH.
Whilst these IP's admittedly caused a lot of headaches when first introduced, the vast majority of Geo-location services are now recognising them as UK-based. If you encounter any problematic sites then we could do with knowing about them. We'd need to know the address of the site you're trying to access, the IP you're assigned and the gateway you're connected to.
In the meantime, I'll query why the ARIN records still reference Infonet.
The introduction of these IP's are nothing to do with cost-cutting BTW
Further to seeing Bob Pullen's replies regarding the IP range issue and wanted to be made aware of any current issues; the IP addresses are causing issues with Heart Internet related services. My current IP address is 146.199.216.62 and although dynamic, each time I restart the IP stays within the same IP range. IPv4 Address / Gateway is 192.168.1.65.
Are attempts being made by PlusNet to resolve this issue?

You'll have to elaborate on what the issue is, but yes we'll do our best.
Quote from: StuartUK35 yes, the US IP range does cause me an issue...

What platform, and does this definitely not happen when assigned IP's outside of thee ranges?

This should now be fixed (it looks good from here). If you've previously been redirected to the US site, you may need to select the UK site to get back to the UK variant, or clear your cookies.

What problems were you having with Teamviewer and how can they be replicated?

No, if you believe you've a problem of that nature, then best start a separate thread (if you haven't already).
Quote from: thedyes0 The second time happened yesterday when doing a bet for a friend who doesn't have internet or pc/laptop, on the website: paddypower.com it rejected my bet based on my IP being from the USA where gambling is banned.
Still chasing Paddy Power. Thought I was getting somewhere but they've gone quiet on me. I'll reach out to them again.
