Quote from: baldrick I am on 146.198.90.246 and am getting ludicrous shipping prices from Ebay, so I must be a victim.
Can you be a bit more specific about how this problem masquerades itself? If I can replicate it, then I can probably do something about it. Having said that, this is the first I've heard of it affecting eBay. Given the site's popularity I'd have assumed I'd have come across this before now if it was an issue
Quote from: npr db-ip.com updated their data base on the 1/8/15 and it now shows the 146.198.0.0/16 block as being in the UK.
That's good to hear
Quote from: npr IP2location.com updated their data base on the 31/7/15 and it is now showing some of the 146.199.0.0/16 block as residing in California and some in the UK.
I'll get in touch with them again. Can you provide me with an example IP that still shows California?
Quote from: npr Note: I've had no sensible replies from support at voipdiscount and nothing from betamax.
I'd be fibbing if I said I was surprised

I only tested random IP addresses but couldn't find a non UK one.

IP2Location:
146.199.0.0/24 >> California
146.199.1.0/24 >> Texas
146.199.2.0/24 >> California
146.199.3.0/24 >> California
146.199.10.0/24 >> California
146.199.50.0/24 >> London
All the random IP's I tested above 146.199.50.0 showed as being in London
Tested at: https://www.iplocation.net/

It was clear the lad in support doesn't know about geo-location.

Bob,
I did a search on Ebay.co.uk and found that on the opening page that lists the auction items that the postage shown was, for example, £23 plus. When I clicked on the item it was showing economy delivery of £3.80. This is an example, all were similarly showing the anomaly. I disconnected from the internet and reconnected and the prices came back correct on both pages.

This corrected itself after I dropped the connection and picked up a different IP address.

I accept that you cannot replicate it but I do not believe that I am going mad.
Anyway it is not a problem for me I was simply reporting what happened.

Quote from: EnglishMohican I have downloaded the cyberghost software onto my laptop. When I run the programme it puts up a screen with a big yellow button and a map. There is one of the location indicator balloons on the map and a statement "Your real location ..... " and quotes the IP number. As I type, that location is shown as in London so all is ok. On Friday, the location was shown as California.
Replicated that (attached), so I'll try and get in touch with them.
Response from Cyberghost as follows:
[quote author="Cyberghost"]Sorry for the long delay. Indeed, I can confirm that the Database we use is indeed based on Maxmind. The only problem was that it was not updated for some time.
Still, we've created a task for our developers to update it so it will soon be displayed OK.
I'm not in a position to test at the moment, but Cyberghost have messaged me to let me know that this problem was resolved with the latest build of their VPN client.

If you need a different IP address (assuming your are not on a fixed one) then Gateway hop. Log into your (modem/)router interface and where it shows your Internet connection click the "Disconnect" button to drop the PPP session. Wait about 30 seconds, and then click "Connect".

Quote from: safrabods Camelot UK Lotteries UK (Lotto UK) won't accept the 146.199 IP.
Can you elaborate on this? What browser/device were you using to access the site? At what point did you encounter problems and were you presented with an error message?
IIRC, I've tried a few times to replicate problems with the National Lottery website and I've rarely been able to
