With WillHill, I simply open their website and get this (screengrab) - cannot login, blacked out.
With PaddyPower I can login, but when I click on a bet, I get the restrictive message (screengrab)

I think that this argument would be better placed at the feet of those organisations restricting access to services based on stale geo-location data. It's not just restrictive sites though is it. Are you saying Microsoft,Yahoo! and TV Entertainment companies don't update their information from the most reputable services out there. Surely, as you have highlighted, ISP's are aware of this issue and the impact on their customers so should delay release of IP addresses for long enough to allow the registration process to catch up with the changes. The internet is getting more GeoLocation based day by day with 'local content and advertising' the current trend. Surely the reason some companies restrict access is because of country specific laws, copyright and regulation - not money grabbing. It's the most reliable information they have without tracking everyone via GPS info.
Just how long have PlusNet given for these IP's to be 'warmed' and registered correctly?
From the comments being made here, it's money grabbing gambling sites which seem worst affected. This is not an ISP issue. As I've stated, I have a static
IP address which has been in PlusNet's core range for years ... Yet Facebook does not consistently see it as being UK based. PlusNET changed nothing - so who did? The problem lays elsewhere.

I can access William Hill OK today. Also the Sky Go location warning is not appearing.
Still have the same problems in the other sites I mentioned.

William Hills no longer has a warning, but PaddyPower still thinks I'm in the US.
Also, my PC's clock is still 8 hours out if I use "Automatic Time Zone" setting.
And this site ( http://www.geoip.co.uk/ ) also says I'm in America.

Yes same here, I can now access Will Hill (1st June)
but still not Paddy Power.
Townman, online gambling in the USA is illegal, it's not the gaming sites choice, they have to block USA IPs because its banned over there, they have no choice.

I think @Townman was referring to the fact that they aren't updating the geo-location data for the IPs rather than the fact that they have to block genuine USA IPs.

...but they have a choice of who they use for geo-data and how often they update geo-data changes.
If I were a betting person, I'd wager that those sites having difficulty are obtaining their data from the cheapest supplier and updating it infrequently to minimise operational costs.
As I've said, but no one seems to be hearing, geo-location data does generally seem to have a hit or miss quality about it. Of recent weeks I have needed to change geographic restrictions on Facebook pages so that I (with my long standing fixed IP address) and people with other ISPs can continue to access a Facebook page which until a couple of weeks back showed no access restrictions 'from' the UK.
@bobpullen has worked some magic on some accounts facing this problem. I therefore have to conclude that such magic has not been applied to your account or the magic incantation is beyond his powers.

In my mind this is clearly Plusnets fault. It was Plusnets change to bring in a new range of IP addresses, which they should have tested fully before providing to their paying customers. As an internet provider, they should understand how the internet works and be able to test this fully beforehand. Even basic google searching shows that these IP addresses are located in the USA by some Geo Providers. This should clearly have been resolved before giving the IP's to their paying customers.
Shoddy change control and testing imo.

The IP's from the range that we tested were all geo-located correctly before we made them live. Some of the geolocation providers have either reverted the changes we requested, or have inaccurate data for some smaller, untested subnets.
I'm sorry customers are encountering problems, however it is not practical to individually test ~65,000 IP addresses against every website in existence
What's unique about these, and previous IP ranges is the fact that they're part of the the American registry Arin. I'll not go into detail about why this is, but I will say that it was always going to be a bit of a struggle to get all of the geolocation-dependent websites updated. There's no way we'd have had them all sorted before the IP's started getting assigned to customers.

Thanks for the reply bobpullen. Any chance the change can be backed out so we get the old set of IP addresses which worked OK, until this issue has been fixed by the rest of the GeoLocation providers? All of the IP addresses my router is assigned have this problem.
And please add all these Geo Location dependent sites to your website test list for when you add future IP ranges (especially if the new IP addresses originate in USA).

IPs are assigned slightly differently on the new network, and introducing/removing a range from service isn't as trivial as one might think. There are also a finite amount of IPs at our disposal and shuffling them around needs careful consideration to avoid certain parts of the network running out of IPs to allocate (at which point customers wouldn't be able to connect).
We'll make sure these websites get added to our test list.

tonybet.com is broken too - when you try to log in it comes up with an error saying you can't bet from your location.

You can at least read who the four top sportsmen are who won injunctions against the British press, and who have been outed in the USA today. Since using the current IP wrong region isn't caught in the software blocking UK IP addresses from reading about it.
