I have a static IP address in the 81.174.*.* range and it geolocates to The UK.

Mine geolocates to the UK too, which is why this is frustrating...

Just checked my IP on https://whois.arin.ne while looking for a status on using an Anonymiser [according to National Lottery people at Camelot] and it looks like it's a recycled IP address.
It seems to be allocated to RIPE NCC and, being based in Amsterdam [as of 2009 when record last updated], could explain why the National Lottery site assumes I'm not in the UK?

Had a look on ripe.net and it shows Sheffield - so that's good.
Wonder what's going on at Camelot. Have emailed them again to chase up last months query...

I had my router off for a week or so, since which I've been given an IP address in the range (51.7.223.) Unfortunately, this is being geolocated as Saudi Arabia by some of the lookup services (see screenshot below). This is a problem for me with geo-restricted services.
I switched off my router overnight but just got another IP in the same range so have the same problem...
How do I resolve this?

I've now confirmed that PlusNet is not the issue with my problem.
Camelot uses a geo location service from Neustar, and when checking my static IP from PlusNet on their site, it returns my location in the UK. So it appears Camelot take a UK IP location and somehow block it...
I'm now dealing with them. Hope that helps anyone else with Camelot / National Lottery issues.

Here's another example: screenshot showing how speedtest.net thinks I'm in Saudi Arabia, albeit with Plusnet...
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is there anyone I can chase to fix it for me?

I have had an update from PlusNet support. Progress! Snippet below.
In regards to the IP address, I have checked your connection and can see the IP address has now changed to a UK one. This issue has affected a small percentage of our customer base and we do have a resolution. If the issue reoccurs please get in touch and I will apply a 'static IP' to the account. This will resolve your issue until the bigger problem is resolved.

@noticeto, interesting that speedtest.net is identifying the ISP correctly. Is this the only site you're having problems with? If you create a speedtest.net account then you can refine your location in your profile settings as explained here. I'll arrange for somebody at our side to get in touch with Maxmind. Bonkers that it's locating in Saudi, as that range is registered with RIPE and AFAIK hasn't been used before
Where did you run that EurekAPI lookup?

Hello Bob,
The key site I've had problems with is Lastpass, because I have geo restrictions set on where my Lastpass vault can be accessed from. That's how I first noticed it. I've had to temporarily change (reduce) my security as a workaround, which isn't ideal.
I used: https://www.iplocation.net/ for the location table, which returns 5 entries. Of those 5: IP2Location, ipinfo.io, DB-IP and MaxMind all correctly return a UK location. Only EurekAPI returns the Saudi location.
I spoke earlier with Plusnet support (Question 131145421): they restarted my session a couple of times from their end but I just got IPs in the same range. I was advised to do a >65minute restart to see of that would help get an IP from a different range. Last time I tried that it made no difference and just got allocated in the same range.
I was told that Plusnet had recently acquired a bunch of address blocks and so the records/tags for some of these must not have been updated correctly (yet).
I'll try the >65min cold restart later, and if no luck recontact support for a better answer...

Plusnet Support's suggestion to me of >65min reboot is not really acceptable - this may or may not help me, but in the event it does help me, it simply means someone else will then get the IP address I've vacated and then potentially suffer the same geolocation problems I've had. Sort of musical chairs (IP addresses!) with no one wanting one of those in this Saudi address range when the music stops!
The underlying issue needs resolving.
