To the OP - am sorry that a member of staff has not yet picked this up and hope that you have managed to get through to Sheffield CS to discuss this matter more thoroughly.
If not today, then probably one of the staff will pick this matter up in the morning.

Hi there,
As discussed with you today we've now got an appointment date for both your phone and broadband services.
I'm sorry for the confusion caused so far, but hopefully it'll be a smoother road from here on in. Smiley

Calling our support staff 'numnuts' is a bit harsh IMO. The guys in Durban have been supporting MAAF customers for some time, and won a fair few CS awards in their time. Yes, it's taken them a while to learn the intricacies of Workplace, but the same can be said of n00bs we hire here in Sheffield.

Re: Is this a sign of things to come?

Well, I thought I should provide an update.
This morning I received a call from one of the staff in SA. He informed me that BT had been contacted and that they were waiting for a date so they could inform me when they could install the line.
Shortly afterwards, 'Mand' called me, told me she had seen my post on here, apologised for the delay and informed me of the earliest date BT could install the line. She then offered to rearrange it if it was inconvenient. She also explained to me the reason for the delay and asked me if there was anything else she could do.
I thought it was very good customer service for a member of the PlusNet staff to not only monitor these boards, but also contact customers.
I understand that not everyone will share my view, or my experience, but I do think it says a lot that the company actively sought out and contacted me following a forum post.
The staff I have spoken to have always been very helpful, my frustration lay in not knowing when I would be able to get my phone line and, really, that was down to BT rather than PlusNet.
In conclusion, I'd like to thank 'Mand' and the forum members who have been kind enough to read and comment on my posts, and I hope this is a sign of things to come!

Actually, it's "standard procedure" and has been for a long time - as for the future, who can say?

Standard procedure to monitor the boards? Really? I didn't realise that!
I'm quite impressed by that, I've not heard of any other companies that provide a forum to discuss their products and service, let alone monitor it and use it to contact customers personally!

Sometimes they get a Private Message that points them to a particular problem, and then they get the Kudos for being "ever so helpful"  Undecided

So glad things are moving for you and hope that everything turns out well with your connection.
Yes, it is usually a helpful and lively forum, monitored by staff and moderated by ordinary customers who give their time freely so we are very very lucky.
And yes, it is always nice to be thanked.

I do appreciate it - and always say so (if not usually publically).

Re: Is this a sign of things to come?

@medlocktj, thank you for the feedback, hopefully we can prove to you now just how good our service is. Myself and the rest of the comms team can usually be found around these parts if you need any further help. Smiley
@A Fox is Evil, us monitoring the forums is not going to change, can't imagine why you'd think it would.
@shutter, noted, and appreciated.
