It disgusts and enraged me that ...

.. When I had,  to now (Jun 16 Jun, from 01ish for about an hour, without any warning, unable to access the internet to use email, or even the access the internet. OK, stuff happens. But if you know it is going to happen, as in "oh its 1am-ish, it won't matter to anyone". Well, it mattered to me. I rebooted practically everything on my home, including the router/.ONT, in a state of rising hysteria.  An hour or so it came back. Gee whiz? Thanks! Well, what I would genuinely thank some notification that 24-hour reliable internet wouldn't necessarily work from 1am for a couple of hours  because someone was might be fiddling around with something who-cares-what at your end. And stop me rebooting everything in my house in the middle of the night. !!!!

OK, it's a rant, but it seems to hne happened about once a week lately. WHAT ABOUT having a *WARNING* link somewhere prominent saying something like "ON SUNDAY 16JUN 1ISH" we'll be fiddling out with our servers somewhere, apologies, give it an hour.

Is that too much to ask? Might lengthen my lifespan. To me, it could would seem a sign of an service that gave a thingy about their customers. GNASH!!!.... If this is Openreach's fault, I don't b'd care.Tell them to tell you, F'Christsake...

@22over7 At that time, it is more than likely to be OpenReach working on their network, and not Plusnet. This work will affect all ISPs, is necessary, and none of them will advise their customers. If you really need to know - in advance - of scheduled downtime, this link is useful: https://status.zen.co.uk/broadband/

@22over7  Nice rant but you have unreasonable expectations for a budget ISP. It is not a guaranteed 24/7 service, if that's what you want you need a backup connection, preferably on a completed different network, or over mobile data.

It amazes me that so many posters on the forum complain bitterly when they lose connection and can't work from home, with no backup connection available.🙄

In other words, want mission critical service but only willing to pay for a basic residential service.
