Unless I'm very much mistaken, John Lewis are reselling PlusNet - therefore you are moving from PlusNet to PlusNet.

And would that block the move?

I moved over to John Lewis in January this year (run & operated by Plusnet) and the change-over was perfect.
I have only rung them once and that was back in December and the phone was answered immediately: you, are probably right in thinking that a lot people are swapping providers at the moment and the lines are busy.

I don't think that would be the case any more then moving from BT to PlusNet. What I think puzzled me is why make the move? I don't think you'll get any better connection - whether John Lewis as a reseller will be able to provide better tech support seems unlikely if they have to go back to PN all the time. Either way, PN as your outgoing ISP should abide by the normal code of practice and if they are blocking your move then they should say why. Assuming you are still a PN customer they should be able to answer that for you.

I don't know - that's why I'm asking here. The JL phone line has a long wait time at present.

Plusnet bills are £50/month, a new JL contract (12 months) is about £30/month.

Took a sicky this morning. JL answered after 55mins on hold...sorry madam (blah blah blah); we have started your broadband now (!) but unfortunately the phone cannot be transferred until 17th March. Looks like if you need anything doing you have to ring. Cheers all.

so the service will be the same as plusnet, and the CS is just as bad as plusnet.
and still relying on the plusnet backend.

£50 a month ? Exactly what service are you getting for that sum of money ?
