Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Thanks for the feedback @HarryB, at least I know. But based on what you say, in theory, could this upgrade happen from now up to the 22nd?

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

I'd be a surprised if it completed prior to the 22nd to be honest.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Just thought I'd ask, but as I will no longer be getting a confirmation email that my upgrade has been completed how will I know when it has physically been done? I'm asking as the phone lines went off this morning, it may well be coincidence but due to living in a sparsely populated area, the upgrade may be done before the 22nd due to the reduced demand on BTOR here. I know pigs may one day fly but I'd still like to know what to look out for please.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Your router would lose sync and if you're using the Hub One it'll automatically re-sync on VDSL.

If you check the helpdesk page of the routers settings it'll tell you if your on ADSL or VDSL.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

@MatthewWheeler - Thanks for that Matthew, but I'm using dual DrayTek Vigor 130s so would this apply the these do you know? If not then I assume my internet will just go off line otherwise, so that would be a bit of a clue. Smiley

Also, do I get to keep the same static IP addresses?

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

If there's a setting to auto sync in it which some routers do have then in theory yes it should sort itself out.

If it can't you'll just lose connection until the settings are changed.

You'll keep the same static IP address too.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Call me cynical, but have you ever had one of those moments when you just know things aren't going according to plan! I know there's time left in the day but I'd be willing to wager that my upgrades don't get done today.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

@MatthewWheeler - OK, so much for the cynicism it appears that the upgrades have been done but I'm not impressed with the speed. Please tell me this is just a profile tweak on Plusnet's side.

As the speed here are for another product and Fibre unlimited.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

What speeds are you seeing?

You're on the 40/2 package on both your lines.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

@MatthewWheeler - My orders were for Fibre unlimited 80/20 from the confirmation email:

Your product change is now complete, here are the details:

Broadband product:Unlimited Fibre

I can't do a speed check ATM on VoIP call.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Unlimited Fibre is 40/2

Unlimited Fibre Extra is 80/20

Unless they are on the Business Product

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

Although you're correct @Oldjim, unfortunately it appears they were not the speeds quoted. I believe @MatthewWheeler is sorting it out at the moment.

Re: Just Upgraded to Fibre Woohoo

@Anonymous The agent quoted you the Fibre Extra speeds but put you on the Unlimited Fibre package.

We'll honour the deal quoted but you won't see any speed increase until Monday as that's when the orders I've placed. are due to complete
