Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Again I failed to get the window to adjust the SNR although I followed your Instructios to the letter (I think!) could it be my router (Voyager 2110) is incompatable?
Also tried to post a Screenshot of DMT Page and informed wrong file ext., not my lucky day!!
But not to worry I've got Routerstats (Lite) working and this gives me the info I want, thanks for trying, Jack

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Shouldn't be any compatability issue, but just to check you did download v8.07 and set it up as per the kitz page I referred to in reply #83.
The screen shot needs to be a .jpg (or .png), easiest way to do it is - alt printscrn, then open Paint, paste it in and save as whatever.jpg. You should be able to attach it to the post through the Additional Options just below the reply window. I've attached as an example.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

The easiest way is to use the snapshot options on the File menu in DMT  Wink

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

OK Chris, I've followed the instructions from Kitz and I've downloaded the right version and still no joy.
I've attached to shots one of the opening page and one where I've attempted to reach the SNR setup page, from here I click Save/Close and it just goes back to the previous page, Jack.

The instructions aren't entirely clear. Once you click ong Save/Close, you do go back to the original page. You then have to also click on the "mystery" tab, which will then display the slider.
I've ringed it in a copy of your image. Once selected, it should look like the second image - but mine is a different modem, so it might look a bit different.

Thanks Mike, beat me to it.
@HP
Doh, I'm so used to using Alt PrintScrn, if forget that is there. No good mind if you want to capture the Misc.Options or the other windows.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Can answer myself on this one, it doesn't!
But if I reboot the router I would image it would, could you help me with this one as I don't want to be giving BT the impression the router is unstable be rebooting without reason, regards, Jack.
Will post again in the morning with progress report.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Hi Jack,
Your assumptions are correct. If the Router reboots without the use of DMT, whether that be due to a power or line interupt, it will return to the Target SNRM and hence lower sync. Post a DMT shot in the morning and we'll see what the error figures are looking like.
Cheers.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Hi Chris,
Here's a screenshot of DMT as requested, if you could let me have your comments I'd be grateful, my intentions are to close DMT later and let it run on BT settings as on Monday I intend to request a reset to 6dB, Jack.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

That's looking very good Jack, you seem to have what essentially should be a very good line.
There is no point in rebooting your router without DMT, I assume you leave it on all the time, if your line is stable and you have no power dips/cuts, the current sync should hold, DMT doesn't have to be running in any case. When the Target SNRM is reset a resync will occur anyway.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Thanks Chris, Just what I wanted to hear, I've rebooted the router and will now just let it run so that when I request a reset they can see 4-5 days without a drop.
My line has always been very stable apart from when I got the blips, I can say that for the first 2 years I had Broadband I can't remember my line dropping at any time.
Again thanks for all your help and guidance and let's hope that's the end of this saga, regards, Jack.

Re: Lack of support from Plusnet

Hi James,
As agreed last week I've kept quiet and waited until now to ask you to request a reset of my SNRM to 6dB as for 2 weeks now my line has been rock steady with no drops. During this time I've had no problems at all.
I've attached a screenshot of DMT for you to let me know what you think of the statistics, regards, Jack.

Should hear back from BT in the next 24 hours or so.
