Don't know what is happening but at 12.36 my computer powered down and powered back up with a SNRM of 6dB, it then powered down again and I switched it off as I wasn't sure what was happening (thought maybe mains electric going off). Just powered back up again and SNRM gone back to 9dB, any ideas?, Jack.

It may just be that there's too much noise on your line for a 6dB profile. Unless you'd managed to test that out using dmt?

Will try a reboot in the morning but not hopeful, I forced my SRN to 6dB last week and it ran for 24 hours without a problem, Jack.

the fact that your computer powered down, presumeably due to a mains interuption, means your router will have done the same. I have come across these strange occurrances where the Target SNRM "seems" to be different from what it was immediately previous. A subsequent reboot returns it to the level it was before.
I would not assume that the change at 1236 was anything to do with the request to BT, certainly as this would seem to be somewhat sooner than would normally be anticipated and happened at a power dip. When the Target is reset, a resync will occur automatically, there should no need to do a re-boot, in fact I would not recommend it.
As I was typing this reply I've just seen your two.
Check your phone line for audible noise.
I would leave RouterStats running when you can just to monitor the situation for a while, and see what errors are occuring and when perhaps.
Edit: Has the sync rate changed since 2130?

The change at 12.36 was BT resetting the SNRM as I got an answer from CSC telling me it had been done. I've checked for noise using 17070 several times today and it's always very clean, when I forced the SNR to 6dB using DMT I wasn't running Routerstats and it was solid, just realised that as soon as I ran it again is when the problems started so I think I'll leave it off for now, the problem is that BT are not going to want to keep resetting are they?
Just to clarify that when the computer rebooted it was not a power cut as nothing else was affected and the computer would not reboot after a mains cut would it?, regards, Jack.

Why your computer should reboot just because of a resync associated with at Target SNRM reset, I don't know!
Can you post a DMT snapshot when you've got enough of a plot on the noise graph.
Just out of curiosity which router are you using at the moment. Could you also post asa your downstream and upstream sync, Attenuation & snrm.
Cheers.
