Thanks Adam

The original email address can be retained for a cost of £1.69 per month

I was also told, customers who currently have a generic account,(still use their MAAF email address ), will still be able to after the 15th December , can you confirm this will be the case ?
Kind regards
Mike

As for the Justmail domain, is it possible to transfer this across to PN along with the webspace facility without going through the rigmarole of a nominet transfer form?

You won't need to fill out a Nominet form.
We take care of those requests in bulk.

Does this apply to a globalnet email account as well?

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

Hi,
Unfortunately I've not been able to make the call today but have seen the replies in this thread. It's refreshing to see help and feedback from PN staff or affiliates. Smiley
So, I find myself wondering... with this change... are PN in a position to 'migrate' exactly what a MAAF customer currently has..? In addition to providing my telephone and ADSL service I also have my domain and associated web space and email addresses (the addresses being 'whatever' @ my domain name. I would hope that I am not going to have to lose anything I currently have, but more importantly not pay extra either. I've seen references to an additional charge to keep an email address. Without further investigation that in itself doesn't seem fair or appropriate to me, and I won't be expecting to pay extra to keep my domain or web-space. I haven't changed anything. I didn't buy anyone. PN did.
I'll make the call in the coming days hopefully but if the PN staff can comment then it would be gratefully received for sure.
Best,
Jonty.

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

Hi Robski,
This applies to all brands which were incorporated into Madasafish a few years back. Sorry I didn't respond to your PM, I've received a very high amount today.

Thanks very much indeed!
We can only set you up with Plusnet's current offerings for your phone and internet. There is a cost of £1.69 per month to retain the original email address, however we will make sure this is considered in the pricing we offer for the other services I've mentioned. We realise this may cause a little inconvenience but we don;t want it to lead to extra costs and as you say this is changes we're making because you have to and not one's you've requested.

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

One of my customers still has a globalnet email account which she accesses via pop, she moved from Madasafish to Plus.net 18 months ago and was told she could keep her globalnet email account.
Can she still keep her globalnet account after 15th December 2015 at no extra cost, whilst she is still with Plus.net or does she have to pay £1.69 per month to keep it?

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

@cwaite
As Globalnet was incorporated into our brands a number of years back there's a chance they may already have a Justmail account.
However I'd like to double check the particular account before I answer your question so can you PM over the username please?

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

It will be interesting to see what pricing is on offer for the transfer, particularly where phone is involved, as the Madasafish line rental price is so much lower than Plusnet.

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

I know someone with an @totalise.co.uk email address that they dont wish to loose, if they transfer to plusnet will they still be able to keep this email address?
there doesn't seem to be much information about this.
Also Will i be able to get any referal points ( whatevers) if this person transfers?

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

Hello all!
I have to admit I am confused by all this. I have been a Madasafish customer for very many years now and joined because a) they were recommended to me b) they offered a good broadband deal and c) they supply webspace which I use a lot for a website I own and maintain.
I need to know if I transfer over to PlusNet (which I was thinking of doing anyway at least combining my landline rental and broadband into one lot) if the web space will transfer over also and will the same madasafish URL for it remain active after the 15th of December for the foreseeable future.
What it comes down to is that I sincerely wish to avoid the faff of having to find new webspace (that is cheap and without advertising etc) and then having to upload it all again along with faffing about with redirecting domain names etc.
Many thanks!

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

Morning all!
@cwaite There is a charge to retain the email address but we will be able to consider this in relation to the subscription charges.
@pint Yes, they can keep it, they'll just need to contact us. Please tell them to check their emails. Give your friend your username and yes you can take advantage of the referral that way.
@jmupton2000 Yes, you can keep the domain and I'm sure we can arrange a good deal for you for combined broadband and line rental.
With regards to webspace I'm looking into the particulars now and will come back with an answer soon.
UPDATE: With regards to webspace we no longer have any residential offerings for this, however we do with our business products so you'd need to choose one of those or seek a 3rd party web host.

Re: Madasafish Closing 15th December 2015

I'm totally confused.
FNN customer who was swallowed up by MAAF. FNN email & a personal one that was hosted via FNN, according to Whois it is on the Force9 servers but registered with PN?
Because it was set up for us and I don't understand it all I opted to pay for a just mail account when I moved to PN.
I'm not bothered about the FNN email but I don't want to lose the personal email address. Do I need to do anything?
