Speed is a misleading word - latency is the enemy of gamers.
You could have a 1MB connection with low latency which would far superior to a 100MB connection with high latency.
Wireless connections are already really less than half as fast as the 'headline speed' shown when making a connection, but thats a story for a different place I think. Common to both the speed and latency though is the necessity to retransmit packets regularly on wireless connections.
Wired connections are much better at working consistently, and at much lower latency. There are also speed advantages, but in terms of ADSL throughput, these aren't really relevant unless you are running home networks and wanting to transfer lots of large files around the place.

I use my wife's PC as backup to mine for VPN and remote desktop. It was wireless but it couldn't keep the VPN up (dropping out every half hour or so) and it was drastically slower to use. The distance between the router and the PC isn't that great with the ceiling/floor and a single wooden stud partition in-between. The signal was always pretty good.
The wireless has been replaced by a long Cat 5 cable trailing all the way up the stairs. I now rarely get a drop and it is much quicker in use.

Why some of you say Broadband your way Pro wont make any different to my gaming than Your way option 2? Is the Pro more for PC gaming rather than PS3 Gaming?

Because if the Plusnet servers correctly recognise the game the priority given is the same on BBYW 2 and Pro.

If anything, I'd say that upgrading to Pro will have a negative effect.
You'll be paying more, and expecting more, but will get the same experience you have now - chances are all that you will achieve is being a few pounds a month worse off, and you'll be increasingly frustrated.
Better to spend the cash on a Cat5 Cable and ditch the wonky WiFi connection IMO!

Also, Sony release updates to the PS3 quite regular now, i'd check out some PS3 forums to see if any of the latest updates have naffed some network settings up. Check out AVforums, they have a good bunch of helpful active posters in the PS3 section. Good luck!
