Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

So, this kind of proves my point that the fault is definitely with plusnet all along even though the support desk kept telling me otherwise, and of course kept telling me that the "fault" would move with me if I move to another provider...well, it hasn't, since activating my o2 broadband today the fault has disappeared and I am now getting faster speeds than I have ever had before.  I will post comparrisons in a moment.

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

OK, here's the proof !
This is the speed that I have been getting for the past 2 months from plusnet

and here is the speed that I am now getting today from my o2 connection.

Just in case it is not clear in the image, my o2 stats are:
Date                  Download Speed          Upload Speed
Today 19:16    6506 kbps (813kB/s)    1026 kbps (128kB/s)

seems I was right all along  Smiley

Sounds good!
But I have just looked at several pages of the Terms and Conditions and although it repeatedly refers to "the Contract"  "Your Contract", I can't find how long is the minimum contract.
Perhapsyou can enlighten us?  Huh

There is a 1 month grace period, after that it is a 12 month contract.

It is the opposite - you moved out and experienced higher speeds.
They moved in and experienced higher speeds.

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

You guys just won't accept that plusnet are at fault here will you.
The proof,  192kbs download speed with plusnet for the past 2 months.  I move to o2 and the "fault" disappeared even though support kept telling me it would move with me.
Amazing eh?
Sure glad I moved. I really wanted to stay with plusnet as I had been with them for 10 years... but loyalty gets you nothing.
Oh and by the way, o2 have a fantastic helpdesk, really professional and they know what they are talking about too.

err, yes I will.  I accept I am on a different phone system.  There now, does that satisfy you.
But, the fact still remains that I was paying plus net £5 a month MORE than o2, yet plusnet could only give me 192kbs download...that really is unacceptable and you know it.

So, this kind of proves my point that the fault is definitely with plusnet all along

As an LLU user myself (Be actually, on which O2 runs) I think you are not actually understanding the differences.
It is actually pretty likely that the fault is with BT equipment and PlusNet, like any other ISP who run over BT kit, have to deal with them in a formal and frequently frustrating way.
Sometimes the process can prevent a resolution and moving to LLU can either bypass the issue or bring it out again in a different guise.
Looks like you've been lucky moving to LLU, many are not, but when you have exhausted all other options it can be worth trying.
Glad it sorted out your problems.
PS You are NOT on a different phone system, all those comments are just plain wrong. You ARE on a different broadband system but still down the same phone line. Your phone service and equipment is as it was, unchanged.  Wink

Re: Migrated to o2 today, fantastically fast download and upload

but the exchange system is different, granted from the exchange to the house is the same.
and I echo what HP has said, I am not denying you have a much better signal and better speed, but nobody really knows what your previous problem was.  and what you were told was partly true if you had just changed ISP and not gone LLU.
Happy XMAS and NEW YEAR
