Re: My broadband connection was stolen by my own internet provider plusnet!

Glad you got it all sorted and thanks for making the effort to come back and post the conclusion.
All too often you never hear back from a customer and wonder what had happened.
Fingers crossed that is the last issue you'll have with PN Smiley

Re: My broadband connection was stolen by my own internet provider plusnet!

Perhaps the title of this topic should be changed to "My broadband connection was stolen by my housemate"!

Agree with that
Not sure I do as it goes from one extreme to the other in the "blame game". No doubt there is a suitable rewording that is fair all round.  Wink
After all it was the housemate's incorrect request that triggered this, but a string of cock-ups in BT and PN were what made it go so horribly wrong.  Cool

My broadband connection was stolen by my housemate - and Plusnet aided and abetted?
I'm not sure any blame can be attached to BT.

Re: My broadband connection was stolen by my own internet provider plusnet!

At the end of the day it was stolen by his house-mate whether intentional or not, and there is no blame attached to the originally suggested amended title. The thread clearly explains what happened and what was done to rectify the user's issue. An amended title would correctly highlight the possibility of this happening if someone accidentally entered the incorrect information in the wrong places.
I hope Plusnet have taken a very close look at this sign up page with a view to making some changes that would stop things like this from happening accidentally in future.
One question that does come to mind in this case is if there are 6 lines going into that house, why did it come up with this one and not one of the other 5 Shocked

My broadband connection was stolen by my own housemate whether intentional or not but then Plusnet tried to cancel the cease but it wasn't a third party order so the cease ended up going through anyway and I had to be reprovided

A touch too long though and it would make a mess of the board index page with such a long title Tongue
