Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Interesting that other people have been changed more-or-less straight away.  I raised a ticket yesterday and it came back:
"We are unable to answer your Question [ 27393341 ] at the moment. The
Support Team will keep the Question open, and will provide an update as
soon as possible.
[...]
[INTERNAL] Ticket on hold until due date.
The next action on your Help Assistant Question is due on Thursday 8th
January at 9:00am. This Question will remain open with the 10GB Option 1
offer - BB only until this time.
[...]"

The 8th will be the start of my next billing period - so has there been a change in the way this offer is being processed?

Usually only if the change creates a reduction in the nominal subscription (ignoring the rebate)

True, but in my case this is from BBYW option 1 (2GB) to BBYW option 1 (10GB), so no change in subscription when you exclude the rebate.

The monthly usage stays at 10GB for anyone who signs up the account, it will also remain at that after the offer expires.

Chris, if I'm reading it correctly....  If I move from BBYW option 2 and take up this offer I assume the only thing I'll lose are the 120 free minutes of anytime phone calls.  Is this correct?  Also, when does the offer end.

You'll also be traffic managed as an Option 1 customer rather than Option 2.

The offer is due to end towards the end of January at the moment.

Can we go back again if it doesn't suit.
If we do would it be correct to assume that the months at the reduced (discounted) rate would not have to be repaid but that the discount would stop immediately on transfer back.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Well I signed up for the parallel BB And phone package, and got the erroneous email messages saying the wrong thing.
Now I have just received an email saying the direct debit for £9.75 will be taken - I was expecting the £5.50 - minus a credit I already had on the account, for referral etc
So there still seems to be problems with the billing system  Sad Sad Angry
I have raised a ticket too.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Have you gone to your account details and checked to see if your billing date has changed and when your useage is reset? You may find that the useage will be rest early and the next billing date is later. The discount will not show as this will probably be done as a credit at the time of the next bill.

Well - yes I have monitored my account dtails closely. The billing date did change, it slipped about 5 dat.s and they reset my useage immediately despite the fact I had paid up front at last billing for 15G until this week  >:(. .
Re referential credit - it was due for billing this date - and does not seem reflected in the direct debit notice.
I invite Mark Kelly or someone else in management to answer my questions - as I'm less than impressed.  Angry
It's not CSC's fault as they are just going by their instructions - so no bad feelings to those guys.  Smiley

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

It seems to have been a while since we have seen much of our regular PN staff popping in and out of the forum to solve problems such as this so it will be nice to see them back after the holiday, hopefully tomorrow.
On the subject of the loyalty discounts, I obtained a Thomson router for my niece just last week (Option 1) for 12 month contract but having requested the same for another of my referrals yesterday, was told by CS that this couldn't be actioned. If anyone is overseeing the forum could they just confirm whether or not I can go ahead and order one? CS took the p&p for a 1-port ethernet router but I have had to ask them to refund it as my friend is getting a laptop later this week and will need a wireless one.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

@chris: you mentioned that there was traffic management and thoughfully provided al link - which I followed.  Here's the interesting bit, as I download quite a lot: Broadband Your Way Pro has no rate limits and traffic is prioritised at all times. This provides the highest possible speeds and network priority on all protocols, giving a 'five star' enhanced performance.  That look realy god to me; however it is IMHO misleading for when you click on the link to that product it reveals that there IS traffic management!!  Therefore no "rate limits"!!  I'd appreciate clarification on this please.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

I'm currently on "PlusNet Broadband Your Way Option 1 with included 2GB bandwidth"  so this sounds like a good deal for me, I didn't take the free router so I'm just on a one month rolling contract.
I don't think I'm on a deferred contract but I'm not totally sure what that means, in my acct summary I only have the package I mentioned above plus a cessation charge of £20 on cancellation.
Anyone got any advice? Or should I just go for it...

If you intend to stay for 12 months - go for it as it can't hurt.

Re: New Option 1 offer with 10GB allowance

Well it might hurt if the billing get's messed up - like it appears to be with my account.......................................
I would council caution - very sadly.
