Re: New customer, double billed!

Why do PlusNet, (or any other company) delay refunds?  simple mathematics.....
let`s assume you have paid PlusNet, (or any other company) , £50 too much..... as a result of "the company making an accounting error" (i.e.double charging). and let`s assume you are one of (say)_ 100 other customers in the same position....
Total over charge is now £5,000.00............. If the company keeps this in their account for 10 days, due to "accounting delays"  they make money on the interest they gain.....
but when, eventually, they get around to sending your refund...... they forget about the interest they have gained.....
and you, because you are so pleased to receive your refund after so long, have also forgotten about the interest you have lost on your account..... Cry
Hmmm...... Undecided

Re: New customer, double billed!

Got a feeling that double billing is still going on. I appear to have been billed twice as a new user (22nd March) Once as an 'initial charge' then shortly after for my first month subscription covering the same period.  Haven't got to the point of worrying about a refund yet as I still can't get a reply to my ticket asking for an explanation of the charges. Shame really, I was really pleased with my transfer from tiscali/talk talk

It is a cynical world you live in shutter! I'm more of an optimist, but with realist tendencies!
Any company running like that would have to be taking a very short term view of things to think that a few pence in interest gained was a good way to make "profit", compared to all the goodwill lost!!! The only time I'd expect to see a company try such a trick would be if they had a temporary cashflow problem, and I don't see that being a problem with Plusnet!
The optimist in me expects that in due course things will all get sorted. The realist in me knows that if we let up on the pressure, then we might not get everything sorted since companies (and people) resist change!

Your signup route should have explained what was going on. Have you had to pay postage for a router to be sent or any other setup charge? If you hang tight for a response to your ticket, you will get it resolved one way or another!

Re: New customer, double billed!

It'ssorted. Had reply confirming that I had in fact been double billed. Now awaiting refund. Just wonder if this is happening to others who might not have noticed. Maybe PN should check all new accounts

NO, not cynical...... "actual world".........  so you think that all those double billed charges, just languish in a "no interest" account, until someone either refunds the customer, or the customer complains?

that is the actual world I am talking about
