I'm very glad to see this is sorted. I'll pass on your thanks to the person (HB) who spoke to you, he's off shift today but I'll make sure he's aware.

So does the OP get enhanced support similar to the BT service?

I was informed that "a spare pair has been located".
Excellent news.  Cool
Has anyone provided an explanation of how and why a spare pair was located when none existed before..........  Roll_eyes

...some other line ceased... ... an engineer went out and tested all of those thought to be faulty or deficient for ADSL... ... guess we will never know!

To be honest I don't want to jinx it and bite the hand that fed me.  I'm sure there's a reason (a big part of me wants to know why/how it appeared all of a sudden) but I'm simply grateful and appreciative of the fact I now have working services, so don't want to rock the boat.

I'll the the agent that fixed your service to show his face in this thread when he's back in office to see if there's any explanation. However, I remember him being pretty perplexed that a pair had become available himself, so I can't really guarantee an answer on his behalf!  Roll_eyes

@Malachor, I'd keep very quiet if any of your neighbours mention that their phone isn't working Grin

Quite possibly it was down to the records being updated regarding the cancellation of the Sky line by the previous occupant...  In effect, the pair pair was already in the house  Roll_eyes

Re: No Phone Line, No Broadband and a Disabled Daughter.

Unfortunately I was never actually given an explanation for how or why there was suddenly a spare pair available. I received an email advising the 'lack of e-side/line plant' was being investigated and about 4 or 5 hours later I got an email advising the spare pair had been found on the network.
I'm not 100% sure how it came about, but my guess would be along the same lines as Townman and pwatson.
Honestly I was just glad it got sorted relatively quickly from the point when I picked it up  Smiley Initially I had a bad feeling that it could have taken a while.

Re: No Phone Line, No Broadband and a Disabled Daughter.

I am in a very similar situation, we are the penultimate house to move in to a new street and all external work has been carried out, our neighbours are all connected up and running but we are being told that 'external cabling work' is required. Speaking to some of our neighbours they too experienced the same thing and had to wait a few months to be connected and now history is repeating again.
I was scheduled for install on 1st May, took a day off work but like the OP no one turned up, calling plusnet like you from a mobile phone outside in the rain as mobile reception at the house is up and down I was unsympathetically told that my install has been delayed until 13th when the external work should be complete. I can assure you that nothing is going to happen between now and the 13th. Our neighbours were fobbed off several times so it is unlikely that on the 13th we will receive a positive response, more likely another delay.
My need is different to the OP but we also have a great demand for a landline phone for emergencies so being without provision is a scary prospect.
Interestingly enough, I managed to speak to someone from openreach who told me that they are way behind on orders and this reply is just a delay tactic.
It is extremely frustrating and I'm not sure of where to go from here as plusnet tell me there is nothing they can do and are reliant on openreach, but are unable ot contact them

Another 48 hours pass after being told I will have an answer within 48 hours. This is the third time they have failed to contact me within the 48 hours  Angry

Re: No Phone Line, No Broadband and a Disabled Daughter.

Thanks for the link, have completed it, lets see if I receive a response from this one although the form says a response can take up to 10 days.
My neighbour (on plusnet) has said I can use their wifi for a few hours this morning before they go out, this is internet that according to BT isn't possible  Roll_eyes

Quick response from openreach, they say everything is setup and ready to go so are plusnet just fobbing me off?
