Re: One month since joining and problems galore

/Mod rant on
Scarrabri,
It's not very often I stick my oar in the forums or have to pull people up on things,
but saying silly ill-founded things like "bully boys of plusnet are joining forces again" is to say the very least unfounded and un-neccessary.
Plusnet are good (unlike some ISP's) for the most part putting their hands up and admitting that they have got something wrong.
By all means enjoy O2, but should you come back here again with silly statements like the above, I shall have no option but to wield my rather large stick.
I (and other customers) have little time for those who like to stir for what is really none of their beeswax. - Have a opinion by all means but make it constructive.
Thanks for your co-operation.  Smiley

@thelonerider, glad James managed to sort things for you. Smiley
@scarrabri, I'm sorry you think that. As a team we try to help anyone with problems sort them out. Yes, some will be down to problems at the customer side, and some will be down to problems our or BT's side. That said, we do try to pinpoint these issues, and resolve any we can.

Re: One month since joining and problems galore

Hi, ,let me just say , i had problems from the very start ,so i complained and things got better for a very short while,i have suffered web pages not opening ,going off ,loosing internet connection ,speeds of 1.3 mb,a ping of 167  upload speeds so bad i couldnt even send a message to plusnet ,i came on to this forum and complained because very little was done about it ,and all i got was your mod s  all joining in ,as i see on many occasions ,here in this forum ,laying blame on there members ,and you wonder why i call them bully boys,,the final straw for me was  plusnet did some tests with my help and told me there was nothing wrong,at there end,and it might be at my end ,and if i thought different i could ask for bt to come and check the line but it would cost over £100,,in the end it was cheaper to cancell what was a very poor ip which i did ,i find it very strange that my speeds have gone up now ,
and as for

Hi scarrabri,
Sorry to hear you're leaving. With regard to the charges mentioned, these are a risk with any engineer visit but it's only charged if the engineer finds the fault is caused by any wiring or equipment in your premises. That's why we ask for testing to be done - the router in the master socket with all the other extensions and the testing of alternate hardware. If that's all tested then you've proved the fault is not caused by any of your own equipment, and therefore you won't be charged.

Re: One month since joining and problems galore

Well what an interesting conversation and i must admit that from my point of view  scarrabri is possibly more constructive than anyone might think.
Maybe if chemical brother spent more time reading the forums instead of putting his ore in from time to time he may see how plusnet is going.
I may only be new hear but try this for size and lets see some constructive comments.
I phoned up plusnet in October transfering from madasafish, wanted to move my broadband and my phone.
Told me i dont need a mac No. as plusnet own madasafish so left it to them to change it over.
I received an e-mail the other day saying that i had been changed over for 14 days now and that my line speed should have stabalised.
I received no notice of the changeover before the e-mail so my router was still set up and working with madasafish with a 7meg linespeed.
i got the router settings from the web site and started setting up my router and kept getting a red light indicating incorrect username or password, phoned tech support and after 1Hr 30 min on phone and  15 router resets later i still had the nice red light, indian lady i must admit was very polite and told me she would have to get one of the senior tech managers to phone me.
Tech manager sent e-mail saying there was a routing problem and it would be sorted, so i carried on using my madasafish account.
Yesterday morning tried setting up my router and yes Plus net broadband but only 1.9meg line speed.
Tried phoning them and now my phone doesnt work now i am getting worried as we have a disabled little boy and need a phone, phoned them on my mobile instead, went through all the usual games with the master socket before they decided that there was a fault and would get BT to sort it.
Received an e-mail 4:30pm saying fault was sorted and that i had to put 1280 in front of the number i am dialing so tried that and still cant use my phone .
You call this good service???God help us all.
If mnot sorted by tomorrow i'm off.

It's a mistake to have both your broadband and your phone with the same supplier.

Re:One month since joining and problems galore

Hi there,
I'm extremely sorry for the problems that you have experienced as a result of moving your services from Madasafish to Plusnet.
I've asked someone to look into the problems that you have been experiencing with your telephone service initially and to raise with Openreach where required.

I hope PN have a strategy for covering these forums when you leave Jameseh! At the moment it seems that you are indispensable. What would it take to get you to stay?  Smiley

Glad we were able to help. We promise we won't be letting standards slip, even though we'll miss him too.

Re: One month since joining and problems galore

Well i will waite for a couple of months to see how things go before i start recomending.
As a computer company last year alone me put 600 customers onto Madasafish and only one had a problem and it was sorted in 3 hours.
Maybe after Christmas we can start recomending Plusnet.

    Hi
orbrey  ,i understand that some times we have to check things ,but dont you think ,when plusnet gets busy and i get nothing , same time every night that should tell you some thing , and last but not least i liked plusnet ,but i did not like the treatment your mods or what ever you call your selves gave out to so many of your own customers,i was amazed ,these were hard working folk who were struggling to get a good service from plus net ,and you were rude and would intimidate any one who stood up for there rights ,i have to admit i can be ill mannered ,but mostly because of the lack of respect you show,  take chemical brother ,his answer to me was keep your nose out ,and dont stir it , well let me remind plus net that we pay your wages ,and with out us ,you wont servive ,you gang up on any one who complains ,my god is this not the rant and rave page ,i would dearly liked to have stayed here with plusnet as the members are really nice people ,but after watching four or five of the plus net boys joining together against any one person complaining ,thats so sad and really should come to an end ,this sort of thing helps me to understand how bullying comes about in our schools , perhaps you should think about this next time some one complains, very best wishes Brian

Re: One month since joining and problems galore

non of the people that you called bully boys are plusnet employees, including chemical brother, and you did stick your oar in, up to that point you were not involved and had made no previous comments.  My only comment was that I had recieved calls from James about problems I was having, and that is an absolutely correct stement.
Oh and I am on Freeonline and not Plusnet, see my sig
