Re: Performance graphs removed

Again only to the PR department
Come on Andy, I know your not that naive on how things work.
Feel free to carry on deflecting -  I do admire   Smiley  - its a skill I sadly lack.

Re: Performance graphs removed

The number of users is the most sensitive data there. No ISP is going to publish on a daily basis the number of users it has. The UK ISP market is competitive enough - handing over free information like this isn't something that any of the big 6 would willingly want to do.
The bandwidth graphs would have been more sensitive if they included all the end points.

Re: Performance graphs removed

So please explain how changing the graph of connected users to show percentages instead of actual figures would be commercially sensitive.

Re: Performance graphs removed

Have they done that?  Huh
There were enough problems with the existing graphs not being up to date or working correctly all the time. Good luck getting them to spend resources to fix it with something new.

Re: Performance graphs removed

Perhaps you'd care to explain what the "enough problems" with "Collated Users Online" graphs were?

Re: Performance graphs removed

As someone posted, there were several missing, so they were already junk.

Re: Performance graphs removed

I can point out in private BT shareholder reports (as my family is a shareholder) does include plusnet customer numbers, I was surprised yesterday to see its not on the public reports but is in the private reports.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense will know those have been removed for PR reasons, note also plusnet recently swapped PR agencies.

Re: Performance graphs removed

Which 'private reports' are those then?
I have seen the public reports (on the BT website) and also the analyst briefings. I cannot recall ever seeing the breakdown of BT Consumer (Retail + Plusnet) users.

AFAIK all the Gateways were on the Collated Users Online graphs - that was the last graph on the page.

Re: Performance graphs removed

I was referring to the Section 1 graphs. Maybe I mis-remember the placing of the heading :).
Yes, I agree the gateway table was probably the full list, but the Colindale, Faraday, Stepney etc. graphs did not include all the current interconnects.

Re: Performance graphs removed

Ah, that's a shame. My inner geek was wondering how much the launch of Windows 10 was affecting bandwidth.
Is there a general "UK bandwidth graph" (or even worldwide?!).

Re: Performance graphs removed

Would have been useful to see these graphs last night to explain the slow downs which 'resolved themselves' at around 11pm as discussed in the Fibre section of the forum.

Re: Performance graphs removed

Can't see anything obvious on the internal graphing (although I may not be looking in the right place). There's some bonkers humps showing on some peoples' latency graphing here though Shocked

Re: Performance graphs removed

Any common factors that you can see Bob between the 3 identical looking graphs? Same Gateway? Same routing?
