Hi
I have recently been searching for somewhere to backup my files - mainly photos and video from my camcorder, but also anything else I might have on my PC.
So far I cannot find a service that meets my needs, and I found it a glaring ommission that PlusNet do not offer a service to their customers.
Microsofts's SkyDrive is the closest to my requirements, giving 50GB free space, but limited to 50MB per file...unfortunately some of my videos (most in fact) exceed this and so I cannot back up my videos.
Many services charge between £5 amd £10 per month, but I consider this too expensive for my needs. A free space of say 50GB, plus perhaps the option to buy more space at say £1 per month per 50GB would seem reasonable...or better still, first 50GB free and an extra £1 per month added to bill for each 50GB or part thereof in use beyond the free space at any time during last billing period.
I call this 'service' PlusNet Vault...who wants it?
Stuart

That sounds a bit like BT Digital Vault:
http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=25808
It's something we've looked at in the past, but for the number of customers that would use it and the costs involved to ourselves for both the storage and implementation, it wouldn't work for us I'm afraid.

Have you considered Mediafire? http://www.mediafire.com
The free account has unlimited storage, upload/download and bandwidth, but with a file size limit of 100Mb. I don't know if it fits the bill as a digital vault though but I find that it's a handy resource especially to share photos and video clips with friends and family.
