The new network is intriguing.......
As PN have stated that the new network is not LLU they must be still using BT Wholesale.
I can only guess that the cease was required due the BT Wholesale routing changing, perhaps from WMBC shared to WMBC dedicated?

The change over can't come quick enough at peek times, with the packet loss on my TBB graph and poor speeds when gaming or watching streams since Sunday 4th.

That's exactly what this thread is witnessing Gus. I'm not close enough to things to comment on timescales but bear in mind it won't be obvious to everybody when they've been moved i.e. you won't all see traceroutes like that ^

Yeah, I believe that's the intention. There's a *lot* of circuits to move though so it will take some time.

Bob if only plusnet informed us months ago what was going on you may have kept those of us as customers who left.
I probably wouldnt have left if you said something like "We have identified the issue to be the shared msil's in the BT wholesale infrastructure, and have a plan in place which take a few months to complete, in the mean time we will discount your service and hope you are patient knowing we are working on a solution"
99% chance I would have stayed if something like that instead of "sorry we cannot disclose due to commercial reasons".

It is Dedicated WBMC.

This is a positive step that should proudly be announced.  It would also stop what I've no doubt will be a lot of forth coming queries from some of your user base.  At least officially announce things such as this on your forums beforehand so the techies will know,  Joe Bloggs probably wont care.. but not all of us are stupid.  There is no reason to hide something that will come out in the wash anyhow.
OK, there may be some teething problems until you gauge bandwidth correctly, but don't you think its better to warn us.  That way we will understand and be patient rather than moaning if one of the nodes needs a bit more bandwidth.    Talk to us, tell us and you'll be surprised at what a difference it makes when it comes to complaints. 
Since last year they have known the problem was with the shared MSILs but refused to publicly state where the issue lay, if Plusnet had been more open at the time, then it would have saved a lot of grief and bad feelings on the forums.

Bob, I and a number of other people have been reporting slowdowns on mid-week evenings recently - I should hope that these changes ARE to resolve reported problems!

The decision to do so (which has been long in the making), is not a direct response to yours or any body else's reported problems though.
