Well, following my earlier post I was anticipating being moved over last night. Sure enough I had an 8 minute PPP drop in the early hours. However on checking this morning my routing has not changed at all.
Strangely though, I discovered ticket 123736083, raised yesterday, containing the following text:-
Added components to account: 1 x 00000171 (ADSL Residental single static IP)
The new component was auto-configured.
I have dropped my PPP session this morning and I do indeed now appear to have a static IP.
So why was I given a static IP on the eve of my transfer to the new network?

Just in case there were problems, we configured a static IP for your account. It will be removed once we've confirmed everything's good with the dynamic assignment.
Apologies for the confusion.

Thanks for responding Bob. Given that earlier in the thread it was confirmed that those with static IPs would not be migrated, have I actually been migrated or not? It certainly doesn't look like it from the traceroute responses.
Are we talking days/weeks/months to go back to a dynamic IP?

The bulk of migrations are dynamic at present but that doesn't mean we don't have any statics migrated too.
You will have been migrated but you won't see a difference in the trace because the bit that's changed will be obscured by the L2TP tunnelling.
The dynamic IP should be back with you within a week.

Bob, please ignore the first question above. On re-reading the thread I see that the migration will have been done but I will still be terminated on a pnet gateway, hence no change in traceroute. Still interested in timescales though.
Thanks

Noticed the switch this morning, coincided with the mains power going wobbly too, I knew "the switch" was a big thing, but I didn't think it'd be THAT big...
Anyway, speeds about the same, but ping times vastly improved, so that's a plus...

You are currently connected to gateway psb-ar01.
This is located in Southbank Point of Presence.
I will leave it a week or so and review it again

Static IP removed this afternoon. Quick flip of PPP session and dynamic IP assigned and routing now noticeably changed.
All seems well.
Thanks to all.
