Is Plusnet still sending out notifications ahead or after switching a customer to the new Network?
My router unexpected rebooted early this morning, and I notice traceroute no longer lists the familiar gateways.
Tracing route to ntp.plus.net [212.159.6.10]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms home [192.168.1.254]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 133.hiper04.sheff.dial.plus.net.uk [195.166.143.
133]
4 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms be3-3102.pcn-ir02.plus.net [195.166.143.132]
5 8 ms 8 ms 7 ms be1.pcn-ir01.plus.net [195.166.129.160]
6 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms cdns02.plus.net [212.159.6.10]
When I manually disconnect and reconnect PPPoE session, I notice my WAN IP address changes but stays in the same 209.93.178.xxx subnet.
Looks like I am on the new Network ?

It was never our intention to, although some notices have been sent in error.

I just ran a speed test and it is returning 57 mbps download. I am on legacy 40/20 product.
The bookmarked page: https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
shows my 'Current speed' is '40 Mb'
I presume this is only a temporary technical glitch, and it may return to 40mb later. In the mean ttime, I presume I won't be charged extra for the unwanted speed boost.

@bill888 As you are now on the new network, you may need to be aware of potential issues with the IP address range 209.93.x.x (and others). See this thread. Optimistically you will not have a problem - it depends on the sites you visit.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I don't think I'm on the new network; I'd imagine a lot has been going on since I checked the forums, but could you confirm if I'm on the new network?
Here's my trace-route.
Tracing route to ntp.plus.net [212.159.6.10]
over a maximum of 30 hops:1 1 ms <1 ms 1 ms router.asus.com [192.168.1.1]
2 19 ms 28 ms 15 ms lo0-central10.pcl-ag04.plus.net [195.166.128.185]
3 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms link-a-central10.pcl-gw01.plus.net [212.159.2.172]
4 15 ms 14 ms 17 ms xe-0-2-0.pcl-cr01.plus.net [212.159.0.204]
5 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms po2.pcl-gw01.plus.net [195.166.129.41]
6 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms cdns02.plus.net [212.159.6.10]Trace complete.
I think those on the new network has the IR entries?

Unless you have a static IP that will be the old network.
I'm not sure what traceroutes look like for those on the new network with static IPs.

Only on Thurs evening SNR increased from tweaked 3 dB, down speed dropped but up rose beyond the normal 888 kbps,
interleaving was removed. Ping has dropped two-thirds.

Yes, if the gateway has the letters IR in it as the tracert seems to show.
psb-ir01.plus.net
Check your gateway here

Yes, that trace shows you are on the new network.
Visiting http://usertools.plus.net/@gateway/ should tell you that you are on psb-ir01 in the Southbank Point of Presence which means "new network".

The post by Dave answers one question
When I put my IPAddress in https://www.iplocation.net/ it showed a number of connections from my part of England which presumably is on the same BRAS

It's not the wrong address, it's that the gateways with addresses like 172.16.10.5 don't respond to pings and won't show up in a traceroute either.
traceroute to community.plus.net (46.19.168.229), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 gateway (192.168.0.1) 4.472 ms 2 * <-- this is where 172.16.10.5 would be if it responded to the traceroute probes 3 * 4 be3-3102.pcn-ir02.plus.net (195.166.143.132) 24.864 ms

Then the tg582n reports no connectivity to the first IP when running the check.
