I like the package overall, it's just that the 20Gb limit is too looooow. Tongue

Re: Plusnet Pro? Satisfactory GB Or Not Enough? Poll

as ive said before, although PN can take note - it will mean a more expensive package...
If you can get 1 apple for £1, or you can get 10 apples for £1, you'll go for the 10 - and if you dont eat them and they 'go off' its no real loss.
People always want better value for money, in this case - they want more allowance on the "line speed" package (value for money)
and because people on PRO want better value for money, then so do people on the other packages....
However, surely on adsl2 there will be room to wriggle from PN, as 21cn bandwidth is cheaper than 20cn? so if you have only customers on 21cn, you can give better value for money as your not having to make sure any 20cn customers do not end up costing money, rather than making it.
I hope that makes sense Smiley

Re: Plusnet Pro? Satisfactory GB Or Not Enough? Poll

On Andrews and Arnold you but units which give varying amounts of transfer allowance depending upon time of day and type of connection.
They give double the amount of allowance for ADSL2+ over 21CN (and for FTTC) as they do for 20CN. I know they use IP Stream Connect for 20CN users (which brings them in via the same route as 21CN users) which is I believe a bit cheaper than 20CN via the traditional gateways.

Yes we are aware of this, I personally could not care less as I am happy with the package and deal that I am on, But In this thread Gamers have said they would not mind paying extra... Depending on what the package offers of course.

Re: Plusnet Pro? Satisfactory GB Or Not Enough? Poll

Upgraded upload (Max premium) for those on the "PRO" package and not an additional fee for it £7.83 is a bit overboard on top of the £20 for the PRO package which tbh is advertised for gamers but doesn't nothing.
My thoughts anyway.

BT charge PN for Max Premium - PN make very little on it.

Re: Plusnet Pro? Satisfactory GB Or Not Enough? Poll

I've been thinking again a little about this, could the problem be "peak rate" times?  You give people a 20Gb limit between 8am-midnight and no limit afterwards, so how about instead a flat rate package with (say) 60Gb/month total?  You can download any time you want but it's all metered so you can't schedule 500Gb to download over-night but you can use the internet during the day without any worries.  People then would be able to choose between a 20Gb package with unlimited over-night (for those who prefer that) or a limited Gb package to download lots of stuff during the day.
With a 60Gb limit it won't attract the people who download 300Gb/month off peak, or even those who download 100Gb but it would let people download a few Gb every day during "real" hours and probably solve the issue, maybe.  It would be 60Gb of unthrottled service though so it might not be possible (or might be, I don't know) and could be priced accordingly?

I'll be honest with you, I don't think we would be able to provide that kind of "unthrottled" without it affecting the services of other uses in a negative way.
