I have come across this post, which I assume is typical advertising blurb currently doing the rounds https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/Fibre-Extra-Capping/m-p/1669958#M100736 I have the option of receiving this sort of junk turned off on my account.
I particularly note the estimated speed is in the range 40-54 Mbps and the side comment 'Get up to 2X your current speed'.
I can do the maths and calculate that upgrading will result in an increase in speed over a 40/10 service of somewhere between 0 and 42.5% but I wonder how many people are getting sucked in by the up to 2X pitch.
