Not quite true. We use the child abuse images feed to block child abuse images (as opposed to the whole site), we don't subscribe to any of the other feeds the IWF produce.

I took a chance in another speed test and here it is, the only difference between my readings yesterday and earlier this morning is now is that i plugged my crackly line back in (the phone extension cable) and im now using the master socket as opposed to the engineers test socket.
if this fixes my online gaming connection for later and you have online gaming problems , get yourself a crackly extension cable,lol
It makes me think that my filter may be the issue cos before i had my phone plugged into the filter with the router cos i was doing away with the extension cable to rule it out.
But to be fair i did try my old o2 filters in it yeterday with poor results. But as these posts are just moments in time , right now im lookig forward to try my connection out.
I have been advised by james to try the dmz again on my ps3 and dont know what the speed on my ps3 will say as ive used the pc for these tests. But im hopeful,
With fastpath connection does your line need time to settle in or something, i know the asdl does a line monitor thingy.
If my reading stay like they are then im going to be a happy bunny and hope that my online gaming is good.
As quick as i am to complain when im not happy id be quicker to tell you all how happy i would be if it worked.
I still think your better gettin advise off the forum than phone but gotta say thanks for the help if my connection is good.
I hope my stress and frustrations are now gone and thanks for explaining that what i was told on the phone and emails was false as that really got my back up.

No there is no training period when you switch between fast and interleaved. the only settleing period is the first 10 days of your new connection.
the only + sides of fast path are ping times and slightly higher sync rate. and - side is no error correction
i am on fast path on a slightly longer line than yours 51db atten with 12 db snr target and the errors that dont get corrected due to being on fastpath dont affect my gaming.
so you should be fine on your 49db atten line.
all thoe the crakling on your phone is a bit dodgy. but you have tried all tests to see if it does affect your line or not

Presumably they gave you a MAC there and then since they are valid for 30 days, and by giving you one while you were on the phone, it saved you calling back later.
In terms of your account expiring, in simple terms, it won't do so on its own.
Your account will only cease with Plusnet if you use the MAC code given to you to move your ADSL service to another provider.
If you do this, your account will cease with PN on the day that it starts with your new ISP.
If you don't want to have ADSL with another supplier, and you simply want your account to stop, you must request that it is closed.
All the bits above should be refunded under the 90day agreement if its applicable when you leave.

Hi collieocoll & thanks for your time on the phone this morning.
Firstly, as I said on the phone, your account doesn't appear to have been on the 90 day guarantee, hence why your cancellation fees appear to have been calculated incorrectly.  Now whether that's a systenm problem at this end or not, I'm not sure, but I'm going to look into it later on.
With the speeds, as we spoke about, it sounds like your connection at some point reconnected to the internet at a really slow speed, causing the BT profile to be drastically reduced.

LOL, i thought it was me who had a bad time with the phonig and signing up bit.

Well i suppose i should tell you all how my connection was last night.
First game i had was brilliant, played private until 12.30 am due to there being issues with the WAW gaming servers and nobody could get on, good job my friends told me before i tried or i may have thought it was my connection.
The problem i found was overall the connection could only be classed as average, and to be fair average isnt good in my interpretation as some of the isp's who are average dont work to well.
I played with my extension cable connected as i seemed to have good speed results from it. as opposed to extension being disconnected and my results where rubbish.
As i was unable to use my connection at all due to lag the previous nights i can say that there was an improvement even though it was small.
I tried to log on today to tell you all how i got on but my connection was down.
I decided that this morning due to this that i would disconnect my extension cable altogher whle my broadband was down, to find that the filter supplied will not allow me to connect the phone to the filter, the phone plug will not stay in, so i now have no phone connected at all. I wasnt supplied with two filters just the one.
I will try again tonight with the extension disconnected again but i personnaly think that my troubles are down to busy exchanges or similar issue. I can rule out my phone line cos im getting 5 meg even though my line was estimated at 4 so it is obviously a good line to get that.
I will continue to try and ill start to log for my own records the days which it works a bit , to not work at all.
I had a similar thing go on with Virgin , on speed testing the upload upto 80% i have a good reading and at 80% to 100% it drops and is very poor. There problem was they shared bandwidth and gave it to people who needed it hence taking it from me.
As this line was discribed as better than others for online gaming i would have expected a lot more from it, to be as good as say virgin who i do not use now for gaming , i am not to impressed at all. I stopped using my virgin connection for online gaming cos it caused to much lag for me.
In short i will keep trying and seeing which night if at all will my connection work well. I do want a connection which works well all the time not just some times so if this is the norm then im off. But i will give it a fair go first as im in the 90 days thing too so i can afford to use it for 3 months before i cancel , and if i cancel i wont have to pay much so cheap broadband even though i cant use it YET for what i want to use it for.
Whats up with the only gettin one filter though, was mine supposed to be inderstuctable or something ,If so i think its broke.
So 5 out of 10 for my connection so far and i would have given it a bit more maybe but my connection was down this morning and my speedtests after 12 am last night was lower than before 12 am which makes me think busy exchange is killing me. Hopefully all goes well tonight so i can say more.
I would love to be able to say something a bit more positive but im unable to up to now.
To collie, Chin up mate, james will help you , if you cant find the problem and its still bad go to O2 , customer service and tech support is excellent also really good value. They dont advertise prioritising online gaming traffic though which is why i thought id try plusnet but upto now plusnet arnt as good, lets hope things will change though , Cos with o2 there is no capping of servce , unlimited downloading ,static ip, Brill tech and customer support all for £17.50., And they really do bend over backwards to help, Its like having 10 James's on a free phone support.
Fingers crossed my connection works better than O2 in the end , cos at the moment im thinking its not good value.

Egz - If you're using up a lot of your upstream traffic, it will cripple your downstream.
If it's not great again tonight, I've got one idea left to try before I send out a new router.

Dont know what you mean about the if you're using up a lot of your upstream traffic, it will cripple your downstream. I thought that online gaming doesnt use that much anyway. Thought you only used 0.5 meg at a time, to send position of player and when and where you shoot from, id have thought that it was my upload was the problem cos i get from 220 - 380 at different times. My ping is important too,.
I think that you can do thousands of speed tests but the question is will it work when you play.
Feel free to give me any suggestions you like mate as any advise is great.

Hey james , is there no way we could increase my upload speed then cos i think it would be much better for online gaming.
Or maybe the ASDL2+ trail may be good.
With o2 i had ASDL2+ and it was really good,  I would like to get my line tip top if i can as im a serious online gamer and only use my line for that.

You're probably right.  You were just saying in your earlier post about 80-100% upstream so I thought I'd just check.

I have no phone cos my filter is broken. I have to pick up my son from school right now but i will be back at about 3.30 will you try to phone back then please ill put on an O" filter and see if it works.
