I've just checked with a couple people around me and they feel that your setup should work perfectly fine.

Worth a try mate, would i use the same setup on the Thompson , dmz outside the dhcp and upnp disabled ?
The thompson worked great on o2, although i seem to remember having to leave UPNP enabled on that one when i portforwaded., the belkin i had to have UPNP disabled when portforwading.

I noticed that when i port forwaded that port 80 is used alredy by something and it has to be moved to 8080, if i put it in the DMZ then port 80 is for psn network for coms i think and if this port isnt allocated in portforwading wouldnt it be getting used by something else hence causing a problem online.

Dont understand much about ports exept the ones to open for the PS network and for games.
Its very complicated this network stuff.
thanks for the link im sure it may be usefull in finding what port is for what application. My only concern is that i have no port conflicting issue while im in the ps3 is in the DMZ.
The ports i need opening are :
TCP : 80 - 443 - 5223
UDP : 3074-3075 -3478-3658-3479
UDP/TCP : 28960
UDP range : 10070
TCP range : 10070 to 10080
TCP : 9293 (if the router doeant support UPNP)
Unless i use the DMZ which i think opens all ports so no need to portforward unless there is a conflict with a port which in that case id imagine you need to port forward.
Any advise would be great

Some just use the UPNP only and have no issues. Im sure it will all depend how busy the network is at the end of the day as to what causes the most lag.
I will try what you have suggested a see, if i can get a good connection then ill post it for future refrence for guys who have similar issues.
What works for me might not work for someone else and visa versa, but some advise is better than none for them.
Out of curiosity is there any other methods you can use to improve my ping and upload without the download suffering. as my download at its best is 3.3 to the PS3 and couldnt afford to loose any more. O2 used to adjust noise margin but your download would suffer because of this.

There isn't really anything that we can do outside the interleaving change as a quick win.

Thanks for the help again. Ill try to stay positive about it, as i agree with you that the DMZ option should in theory be the best way to connect, i may just leave it like that for a few days and see what happens. Cos if i can rule out setup issues than it must be somthing else, and before anyone comments on me being crap at gaming ,Dont bother ive already concidered that option and dismissed it as my stats with a good connection are great. Im not just my stats, lol

What we do do is to prioritise traffic and impose rate limitations on speed depending on the time of day. This does not happen on Pro.
