Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

Not sure if I actually want him to try again due to his lack of leadership in this transfer. by that I mean his refusal to talk to Open Reach or whoever he places his order/instructions on.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

is this new ISP a one man operation? as you keep referring to "him" rather than "they".
to be honest, the ISP doesn't instil much confidence.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

Not sure if that small, I have spoken to 2 men and one women, but they are a small company, actual size I do not know.

I probably said him as the same guy usually answers the phone, if you ring medium companies such as PN or big like BT you rarely would get some person.

Maybe someone will give a web link to Providers sizes in number of customers, or these figures might be secret for commercial reasons/

Your right confidence is lost.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

I have come to the end of my contract and wanted to use a cheaper broadband provider I let Plusnet know and told them who was taking over only to get a message from the new provider that my order had been stopped and they where not able to process my order. This has happed 3 times. Plusnet have no right to stop their customers going to another provider and I'm sure this is illegal.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

@Laracroft  You have done things the wrong way round. To migrate your service to a new provider you do it by ordering from the new provider which will stop your service with Plusnet. You don't have to contact Plusnet at all. I expect what has happened is that by telling Plusnet first they have put a cease on your line meaning no other provider can order a new service until the cease takes place, not sure how that could happen 3 times though.🤔

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

Yes I ordered from new provider at the end of my contract with Plusnet I informed Plusnet that I am not going to renew my contract and at the end of the term it is to be terminated.
I have never encountered this problem before when switching providers. And I've had broadband for over 10 years.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

@Laracroft  at the risk of repeating what @RealAleMadrid  has said, the systems used by Openreach and BTW to order phone and broadband only allow one order on the system at any one time. So by telling PN you want to cancel, it means your new provider cannot place an order until the cease completes - if that is the case, your new provider should be able to tell you that is the reason.

That said, @HarleyQuinzel  has offered to investigate further to see if there is another reason, so have you been in touch to take advantage of that offer?

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

Hi thanks for your reply
My contract with Plusnet is up in a few days time so I had to give in and stay with Plusnet even though I'm not happy with the way this has been handled. I don't know if it would be worth investigating now as it is sorted out in a fashion.
Thanks again for your help and support in this matter.

Re: Plusnet are blocking my move to new provider.

Hi @Laracroft

Thanks a lot for your response. While you're now recontracting, I've popped into the account see see whether we had indeed blocked your transfer to another provider,

sometimes what can happen is, we place a pending cease order on the line when customers inform us that they're leaving us, prior to signing up with another provider, though in your case, no cease orders were placed.

Had we placed a cease order on the line, your new provider's orders would have cancelled straight away.

If you have any further questions at all, please feel free to reach out.
