You can only compare new deals if you are a new customer - it's not really complicated.

Re: Plusnet are now expensive ISP!

When I rang PN regarding the price rise, they told me the would try and match any deal on the market.
On standard pricing PN are not competitive in for market 1 areas anymore in my view

Re: Plusnet are now expensive ISP!

In my experience (being in a Market 1 area), PN have generally matched whatever BT offer is going at the time. They won't match on things like gift cards etc (that BT often throws in with the sign up), but they will match on baseline price for broadband. The trick is to hope that BT have a good baseline offer on the go when you renew your contract (like they do now Wink
As for changing suppliers in general, be it energy, broadband, or whatever else, there are some hoops to jump through. It is all about how much you will save versus how much hassle you will have. People who don't like hassle put a cost on that, which is not switching. Energy suppliers and the like love these sorts of people. It is similar to a mobile phone contract where a handset is supplied as part of the deal. In the first 2 years you are paying back the cost of the handset. Once your contract is finished, if you stay on the same tariff, the mobile company is making a lot more money from you.
Being a Scot, I will tolerate hassle to save money Wink so I always look for the best deal and switch if necessary.

Don't forget Plusnet phone line rental going up from September. BT isn't.

Wrong.
BT is increasing it's line rental charge to £17.99/month from September 20 where plusnet is only increasing it to £16.99/month and is one of the last to increase prices and would still be cheaper then BT on line rental.

When adslmax posted, the price rises were announced so he was correct (at the time).
